Hi Guys,
please excuse this post if its a bit jumbled as i'm copying and pasting bits from other forums but it will be worth it and save me a lot of time.

Here goes:

I change my cars quite often and like to try different things out, as a result I had 4 cars last year which were:

Fully modded 96 spec DC2
Nissan Skyline R33 GTR
Mazda RX7
and then the EK9 which is where the story begins :D

The car has had a front drivers side bump in the past (not recorded afaik) and the quality of the repair isn't the best in the world but its nothing that I can't sort out before I sell it.

Since buying it I've had the front bumper off to realign it, realigned the drivers headlight (which needs replacing with an ek9 one), lowered it a bit more, fitted an aem induction kit, started modifying an elise itg maxogen to fit, fitted a 6000k hi/lo hid kit, fitted a 300mm momo wheel, fitted the bung in the exhaust, fitted a sony mex1-hd head unit and fitted a speedo converter.

The car is great to drive and has only got 37k miles on it 8)

The current spec is:

98 spec EK9 with manual windows etc
37k
Unknown coilovers silvery gold with pillowball top mounts and top adjustable damping
De-cat
Apexi N1 exhaust
AEM Induction kit
6000k Hi/Lo Hid kit
Standard wheels with brand new Avon zv3 tyres
Toad ai606 with full certificate and central locking
Red Recaro's
Wind deflectors
300mm Momo wheel
Sony mex1-hd head unit
infinity 6*9's
And probably some other bits i've forgotten to mention

Here's some pics:

And some sound clips of the exhaust bung in and bung out:

Then it was time for some new wheels:

I've added some new wheels to the spec list now :D

16" TE-37's

I got an amazing bargain with them after taking an initial risk.

Three of the wheels were advertised on ebay in three seperate auctions listed as Mitsubishi Evo 4 wheels lol. I did a quick search and found they were the same fitment as the EK9 and stuck a bid on all three. A few days later i'd won the auctions and the wheels were on their way from the company in nottingham. As soon as i'd won the auction's I was on the hunt for another wheel and ended up checking out Livvy's JDM wheels for sale. Livvy had a set of five on the site for £625 and a pair for £175 with tyres 8)

I bought the wheels off Livvy and they arrived today. The two wheels off Livvy came with 215-45-16 Bridgestone Potenza's but both are on the limit and need replacing. The wheels from Ebay arrived with 2 x 195-55-16 Dunlop SP Sports and a Goodyear in the same size. Even thought the three tyres have loads of tread I decided to take avantage of an offer Julian (Rarerims) has on at the moment and ordered a set of 205-45-16 Yokohama Parada spec 2's for £260+ delivery 8)

They will be here on wednesday but I couldn't wait so fitted the wheels this evening :p

I plan on lowering the car a bit more and changing the exhaust and then enjoy it :D

Then I had the good fortune to buy a crashed EK3 with a very nice engine setup and some other funky bits fitted and proceeded to upgrade anything that was a lesser spec on my EK9 with bits from the EK3

The new spec was:

Dayama coilovers

Rays lug nuts in blue

Its a bit of an animal now Twisted Evil The engine made 179whp running a mase map in the last car it was fitted to which i'm breaking atm. I'll be uprating the brakes next I think

Short clip of the car's idle

And now to the latest installment:

Been doing a few improvements to the EK9 over the past couple of weeks and I have to say I'm really pleased with the results :D

The cars new bits are:

Painted calipers
EBC drilled and grooved discs and yellowstuff pads
Smoothed front bumper also meshed
Kakimoto N1 catback
A fair bit lower than before
Rewired HID's

So on to the pics:

I'll get some more pics and a vid of the exhaust over the weekend hopefully. The exhaust is the one I bought off John when I had my DC2 and needed a little section cutting out on the backbox piping for it fit but it was well worth it

Next on the shopping list is a camber kit for the front and rear and then i'll be saving up to buy some hight comp bits to fit to the B20 i've got sat in the garage.

And now for some NOISE :D

So there we have it guys. The story so far in my EK9 ownership.

As i've said above, i'm thinking about turning the B20 i've got in the garage into a high comp block and then fitting that with the head and bits already it should be a bit more mental :p

Opinions welcome guys.
Nick

nice car, i liked the apex exhaust best though, it must be fun to drive!!

Its a lot of fun to drive :drive:

My favourite exhaust so far is my INVO full titanium catback which I still have for when the Kakimoto gets too much or for when I do a trackday. I just had to get the Kakimoto fitted though as it was awesome when I had it fitted to my DC2

Thanks for the comments guys :)

I've just bought a 310mm wilwood 4 pot kit for the car and am beginning to shop for the high comp B20 build:D

I got back from Goodwood this evening and found a few parcels waiting for me :D

Some pics first:

And these:

I'm having the discs re-drilled on tuesday to 5x114.3. I've looked into fitting them and i'm 99% sure i'm going to need some 2-3mm spacers somewhere along the line.

The J's intake I had to get once i'd won the rocker cover on ebay (and I hated the AEM that I had before)

The carbon cover is a very good fit, it uses the stock gasket but it requires trimming to fit right. I'm going to be ordering some new washers and nuts from Honda and i also need to order 4 of the shorter studs that are on the outer of the rocker cover as the carbon one doesn't have a plug cover which makes the longer studs useless.

Once the brakes are on I'll be booking the closest available date @ Ty Croes so I can put the car through its paces and see it where needs improving.

More soon
:D

Ah dude I would have left the standard red rocker cover on, it looked better than that CF one you have on now IMO anyway

nice car! congratulations

Ok guys, I'm going to be selling my EK9 soon but don't really know what to ask for it as i've done loads since buying it to make it better.

I'll be selling it without the HID's, carbon rocker and wilwoods so it will have new EBC drilled and grooved discs and yellowstuff pads, standard rocker cover and uprated bulbs.

It will also be fitted with the INVO titanium exhaust and will come with the standard cat for MOT time.

Also has 5 TE-37's and will come with a brand new pair of cut slicks for a trackday.

So whats it worth guys???
