My ek9 - gwalker124

looks fantastic mate, the bay is gleamin now lol. any plans in particular for it?

Cheers ally, most of the plans are cosmetic really, headlights are doing my head in as one keeps fogging up, I have another set I striped down and sprayed black but can't really be bothered with the hassle of sealing them so thinking I might just end up buying new ones. Lol also cleaning the white wheels is becoming a pain so thinking about a set of black rota slips. How's your build going?

Looks great mate, especially after that re-spray!

Who refurbished your rocker cover for you?

Thanks mate, it was spooner from the itr-dc2 forum who refurbed it mate, can send you a link to his work if your interested?

these are the sort of ek9 i want to buy fresh stuff :nice:

Thanks mate :D

Cool, yeah I saw his name crop up when I did a search for rocker cover refurbs but thanks anyway mate.

He seems to do a great job and £60 for a straight swap is a decent price too if that is still how much he charges.

My wrinkle red cover is a right mess can't wait to get it sorted.

Cheers.

Wow not been on here in a long time but didn’t realise it was so long since I last posted. My cars been parked up in the garage gathering dust for too long (almost 3 years) but moving house in October to a house with a bigger garage which should allow me to work on the car and get her back on the road. Been busy as moved house and had a baby and now have another on the way but think it’s time for me to get back into fixing up this car and driving it again (money has been tight hence no changes been made since 2013). Not seen any posts from the old names that used to be on here so maybe I am too old for this car now?

Parked up for 3yrs, darn! and my 1yr feels long enough lol I'm not exactly an old old timer but starting to see less names about as much :( facebook n all that killing forums, and folk just growing out of the scene. Never too old for an ek9!

Yeah mate it’s been a long three years but needs must. Looking forward to getting it to the new house and being able to do some work on it. Well I am 33 now soon to be 34 and not sure I’ll be able to handle the rock hard suspension :))

I’ll hopefully get some pics up once it’s moved.

Fair enough buddy! other priorities to sort :nice: I'm 24 myself, on low stiff suspension bouncing around till my back gives in haha :D

The next 3 years will fly by even faster with a littl'n haha

So how's the seat fitting coming along, is it going to be a lot of work to make them fit?

Ha ha so true mate, the last three years have flown by with just one so would imagine with two it will fly even more.

I decided not to keep the seats, I tested them in the car and they didn’t quite look right so decided to stay with stock.

Looking again at seats just not but think I’ll probably just go with the original Recaro speed seats just the modern version. Wanted to keep it stock but most of them are in pretty bad shape these days and just as expensive as new ones.

Well finally got the car back on the road and noticed quite a few issues with the body/paint work and some other little small things that I am going to start tackiling over the next few weeks.

Started today with the headlights, they where really dull and yellow so gave them a sand down and buff up. They’ve come up pretty good and make such a difference, the photos don’t really do the job justice cause I am terrible at taking pictures ha

Some before, during and after pictures. The during one you can see the drives light is done and the passengers hasn’t been started so probable the best comparison.

Next up is probably the wiper arms as they are all rusty as flaking. I done these a few years ago but didn’t lacquer them properly so will make a better job of them this time (hopefully).

Thanks mate, it’s not as clean as it was after the respray but I’ll be getting that sorted so it is, once I get some cash together that is. Skint me getting it back on the road. Ha
