If it's your first RWD car then it certainly takes a dosage of man ***** to become confident with oversteer, an M3 probably isn't the most forgiving thing to learn in! You can't help but brick it slightly the first couple of times you do it, but obviously the more you do the better you know what to expect, build up the muscle memory etc.

Before you know it, you'll be looking out the window every morning, dearly hoping to see rain on the glass so you can have a play without completely shredding the tyres. :)

ETA: Why is p-ills censored? Is that really necessary?)

best thing to do with these things is to go out and play in the wet - even just dicking about sliding it out of T-junctions gives you a good feel for the car

the balance of the car and fact it is N/A makes the M3 alot more predictable than others i would say

Very nice Sir, is it manual or SMG?

I am still learning how to drive mine properly. Civic was like a go kart fun to drive, the M3 is driving a car.

Yeah that's what I've been doing a bit more to try and build the confidence level up. I've driven a Vitara that was RWD but this is alot different haha.

Its SMG bud, was going to get manual first but my friend who has an SMG persuaded me to get that. Glad I did now, quite hard to drive smooth at first but I've got the hang of it now. Definately alot different to an EK9.

Very nice, always been a fan of these and keep looking at them. May have one in 2014, would like an smg one like yours but the thought of something going wrong with the box kinda puts me off it.

Yeah mines is the SMG aswell. Although the book says you can flat foot shift it is smoother and not quite as brutal under hard acceleration if you let off a bit when shifting.

The SMG's are good Sambo, it is the exact same box as the manual only using an electro-hydraulic clutch. So the box is as strong, and the faults that used to cost ££££ are just a couple of quid relays. Is just people didnt realise that back when they where new.
The E46 uses the SMG II which is way better than the SMG I which are where most if the horror stories come from.
