New ECU or V-Tech Controler

Hi I'm debating on getting an ecu but been reading some of the treads an it sounds like they dont do a great deal more than what a vtech contollers with a fuel air contoller dose. Am i way off here or can n e one tell us what the crack is. What's the best to get an where from?

ecu will adjust ignition accordingly for lower vtec point (which the likes of vtec controller wont do...)

also with ecu you get

better fuel economy on around town driving
NO SPEED LIMITER
higher rev limit
lower vtec poit


i would never put a vtec controller i my ek9.....but i do love my spoon ecu

ECU!! your not reading enough, vtec controllers are crap, so are air fuel controllers. its just as absolutlysideways says.

AEM EMS, im an aem dealer so i ordered it myself i gained ~150whp with it... but it was tuned in conjuntion with a custom turbo kit

i did have it on when i was NA also, but the motor was stock so i didnt feel the need to dyno it, i felt a mild difference. a stock motor wont gain that much, but once you start adding cams, a good header, good induction, ported head, etc... the ecu tuning becomes a key element in realising true hp potential.

hahaha, yeah i know what you mean, it could be wikimanospedia too though you were the first one on here to really take the time and explain why piggybacks were no good.
