My current dunlop dz03g are now bald on the front.(track tyres not daily)
So I'm looking for replacements. I could happily go with the dunlops again(good tyre) but the new r888r have got me thinking they could be an improvement on the dunlops.

I can't find any reviews online that aren't just quoting Toyos sales pitch so has anyone here run them?
According to Toyo they are better in the dry than the old ones, the tread pattern would suggest so aswell. Much less grooves and a lot more surface area....
They'll be on a 7j rim and I'm not sure I'm comfortable going for more than 215(at a push) width on them.
Any opinions on them or better if anyone has run the dunlops and now has the r888r pipe up!

I seen them myself and they look interesting!! The tread pattern looks good and I'm sure they must have improved on the compound

Im running the DZ03g's on my car and have been looking at full slicks next, and also considering the R888R tyres in soft for sprints and climbs if I get around to doing a few

You may as well try them out if they are cheaper than the Dunlops and even ask the sellers for discount for testing them and giving feedback

They are alittle more expensive than the dunlops in the same size iirc.
I was just about to drop the money on them when my machinist phoned lol
So the tyres are on hold for a week atleast.

I can get away with trying them, if they are poor I'll put them on the back and use my rear dunlops on the front as I know they are decent.

If slicks where legal at the ring I'd have gone with slicks. No cage either for UK days so the slicks will have to wait.

Nope.
They don't make them in my new size
225/45/15. They do a 50 profile but that's just too large for me.
I may put a set of 195/50/15 on my spare wheels one day but not any time soon

If you go in dry 888 are probably the best according to my readings.

Anyway when i need tyres i will go for ADVAN Ad08R. Better all around dry and wet. For budget...go to Nakang maybe...

Bit of a thread revival.....anyone used them yet? Still not many reviews online and I'm seriously considering these as they do them in my size?

I've heard they are all hype and not much better than the old ones. Hence I've not bothered.
Tbh they'll be better than ad08s your using now for track work.
If you can get them...dz03g are a good tyre.

That's a shame as 'the hype' promised so much lol!

As I'm on 16" now I'm using a 45 sidewall, I know you can get a DZ03G in 225/45 for the front but I don't think they do a 205/45 for the rear, didn't really want to go 50 sidewall if I can help it. DZ03G is the other option though.

Yeah I'm on 225/45/16 at the front.
You won't regret it.

Yeah. They still wear quickly lol

I may be selling my wheels soon. They have worn dz03g on them but they are still giving good grip.
Cheap chance to try them?

I have a part worn 225/45/16 DZ03G with plenty of tread left if anyone needs 1

Have a nearly new set of FZ201 for sale in medium if thats any use. They would have lasted forever on my Civic and still had bags of grip, so would suit something higher powered.

sorry for the bump but i currently run this on the race car, they are good in the dry and okish in the wet. I find they dont go off as quick., i also found that they wear alot faster.
