New US Ek9 owner

any idea what the shore rating is on the mounts?

Per Spoon
:The hardness of the mount was changed from 55 to 70 the spring constant, from 6 to 14 kgf/mm. As a result of these changes, it is possible to realize a sharp steering characteristic and it is also possible to eliminate unpleasant vibration in the idling-speed range."

Good upgrade if in need imo. I've used HardRace mounts on one of my EM1s in the past and instantly rattled inside the cabin.

Thanks for the insight on Hardrace mounts. I was thinking of them or Hasport or Innovative.

Happy to give insight. I use BlackHawkJapan for almost all car parts. Even with shipping from Japan to US I'm saving quite a bit vs buying from dealers in the states. Link below to the Spoon mounts.

Not a build update but finally took the EK9 to our big Cars and Coffee. Cruised with my buddy and his JDM Integra Type R DB8, USDM Integra Type R and HIS NSX. lol. He has them all.

Still need to install my FEELS Oil Pan and now looking at a front caliper upgrade (Spoon or Endless) and new rear calipers as they're still the OG ones and have some pitting from rust etc though they do work just fine.

Awesome motor setup, what's your guess on whp after tuning?

TY! Living out my younger dreams of doing a full Toda build.

I've come across a few builds with very similar specs make 220-230 to the wheels. The spec B cams love compression so that may be my limiting factor. I should be close to 12CR which is around the sweet spot.

I'm super excited. Will post an update and video once it's all buttoned up and dyno'd.

Your setup is my dream setup, the Toda cams will sound so good you will see.

I'm pretty sure you will get around 220 whp :)

A totally cool build! Looking forward to your updates.

I'm excited for sure to see how the Spec B cams rev out. I was torn between the Spec A2s and Bs but most Honda Tech post from the mid 2000s
:)))) suggested the Bs being the best among Toda users.

And not many folks doing these "nostalgia" builds going all Toda anymore.

Interested to see how this pans out for you! Considering options for refreshing my engine in the coming year :D

What a great pic with the nsx & itr(s). Fresh looking Ek9, USA empty Japan of all the old JDM machinery.

not only japan ,also lot of parts now are out of stock and prices are sky rocket,Dear US friends dont buy honda cars are not good ,try german cars ,thanks :)
nice car btw. (tell you friends not buy more)

It's funny you say that. lol. I own a ITR DB8 as well and even with a little over 5100 ever made there are 3-4 of them local to me lol. Any forbidden fruit (JDM or EDM) cars, there will be a high demand in the states once they are legal.

Small update on the ek9. Pulled the Fujitsubo header off and threw on a PLM Toda rep I've had brand new in box for a few years. While it was nice having the Fujitsubo header match the Fujitsubo catback... the PLM is slightly larger throughout the design and seems to have a better flow. Butt dyno says it "feels" better but def has changed the tone of the motor a little.

Slacked and didn't change out my oil pan for the new baffled FEELS Twincam pan :slap:.

The Header took some work to get off and on and was unsure if the PLM would bolt to a JDM cat length wise but it does, just needed some vice grips to close the gap cat to header. A lot of cold garage floor time. lol.

Still on the list (does it ever end)

-FEELS Twincam baffle oil pan
-Shifter bushing which can still order from Honda btw
-Skunk2 short shifter
-Right front caliper isn't fully releasing so it gives that slightest metal scarp noise even after resetting the piston...looking at Spoon calipers and oem rear calipers as these are still available.

I got a PLM as well, but secondhand. Was lucky to find it on Facebook.

It gets the job done without the Toda price tag. I need to pull mine off, so I can wrap it and install that Spoon heat barrier tape on the oil pan.

Small update on the DB8 R (pictured) . Getting close to starting up and to the dyno for tuning. Will post a video.

EK9-still collecting parts to do the next refresh. Oil pan, brake calipers all around, now looking at doing the clutch with Exedy (oem) and a Spoon flywheel . Any one using this flywheel right now and have an updated insight?

Also looking at upgrading header and full exhaust from the Fujitsubo system to maybe Spoon's full system. I'm trying to not go the full Spoon theme route as everyone else but it's hard not to love the Spoon/Honda ethos especially for a EK9.
