Nicole's turbo black ek9

Yeh that's the error code I was getting.

Fiddled with matrix hose and got it on a bit more and done 105 miles tonight with no error code! Still have a bit of coolant in footwell though, dya think that's enough to be causing my issues with the error code?

Yes could be the case or the engine temp limiter may be set too low. Send me over your calibration file if you like and I will take a look.(AP-Performance@hotmail.com)

0.6 but tdi mentioned something about it being too heavy?

That's wastegate spring. Yeah I agree that's going to be too big a spring for 280hp. That's if you want adjustable boost obviously.
I meant the spring inside the dumpvalve? Your car chatters and mine doesn't, same valve except I've put a stronger spring that it came with stock in mine. Wondered what spring you had in yours.

Also like to know too!

What DV are you using? Some you can split and pop some washers in to make the spring tension higher.
Tighter it is the more chatter you'll have because it's blowing back through the turbo.

It's a Tial. You buy stronger/weaker springs according to intake vacuum.
Mine is 2nd strongest spring and it's still slightly cracked open at idle. So I'd be surprised if she's running the highest spring.

I dunno how to save it, but my ecu is broken anyway :( no outputs so no boost control.

As jesse said, its a Tial, not sure what springs on it, but TDI didnt seem to have a problem with it so I'm leaving it alone for now. seems a mixture of opinions on it.

so I did 620 running in miles on mineral oil and took her back down to TDI yesterday for mapping.
Left the 0.6 bar spring in thinking it would be okay, but she made 390hp @13psi on stock pressure. Boost control in the Hondata wouldnt work and they couldnt get a reading from the outputs on the ecu so its going to have to go away to be looked at, and I need to swap the 0.4 bar spring in and take it back down again to turn boost down lol

Heater matrix is f*cked so bypassed that in the engine bay and no more leaks
Other than that it's an absolute weapon and surprisingly not too bad to drive as the powers fairly progressive, but obviously its not really finished thanks to the ecu/wastegate spring.
Also got a slight misfire at 7k, dizzy cap has a hairline crack and needs replaced really so got new OEM dizzy cap and rotor arm on the way from @Tegiwa Imports :nice: hopefully that sorts it, but for now im stuck with 390 and 2347ftlb torque :notbad: had an amazing drive back through cumbria and up Hartside pass, completely empty B roads and she was perfect! I'm so happy :) couldnt recommended TDI north more to anyone, they've done everything to get her running and driveable, even with all the teething problems.

Good to see it finally on the road and slowly coming together. Probably the most torquey Honda in the world so well done on that front :p

Great stuff Nicole. Would of expected slightly more torque at 13 psi. Bet it's fun

@nicole_ Was there boost control components added to your ecu? None of the long case OBD1 ecu's have the required components installed already, you have to fit the PWM components in order to make the output work. This may be your issue.

Yup, I sent it off to htune to have them added a few months back :(
Tdi tried a7 and a17 and there was no output. Mines an obd2 iirc

OBD1 ecu with obd2 plugs added no doubt, did they verify that pin A7(obd2a) is going to A11?

Not sure, I kinda assumed htune would've checked everything when I sent it to them. Also got told pwm o/p = 99% (no idea what that means lol)
It's got a obd2 sticker on the side, the one that comes as a unit from Hondata in a case rather than my ecu with a chip in kinda thing. I don't know much about them tbh, I bought if off a working ek9 so assumed it would be fine..

You can have my heater matrix if you want I won't be using it anyway - unlike your car mine doesn't have the power to lug it around the track lol

The Pic on the Dyno IS absolutely Class..

Amaing Ek9...even on CTR wheels :D

Apart from the small issues that a very impressive result from a small cc turbo'd car so you must be very happy

Im sure the drive home was a lot different! ;)

Suppose this is due an update, not really had any time to drive the car,
got my wheels test fitted so I could get an idea of how much she needed raise. Hate the "red" Rays nuts, so gunna be replacing them with some dark steel ones I think.

Steering wheel is on, really like it! also got my SPG in but cant get it sitting low enough on the standard rails, and dont really wanna fork out for new ones so gunna try mock something up as I still need it adjustable

also got my carbing back on...

Raised the car 20mm, alignment done and new RTA bushes on, car feels great now, even with no adjustable blingy bits :)

Went to Croft this weekend for a few sessions and absolutely love the car. So so happy with it, took me a while to get used to it, and lack of decent braking had a huge impact, but it pulls so well and it's just insane. A dizzy lead popped off at one point, but that was the only trouble I had all day
Never saw temp go above 104, and that was the only time it was ever over 100 at the hottest part of the day.
absolutely chuffed with it, I really am :)
also so impressed with the R888s, even in the wet they were immense!

Photo overload :D

and some footage. few errors and questionable lines, but hey, its gunna take a while to get used to it. It was surprisingly really driveable and although I have to fight a bit of torque steer, theres no crazy boost killing me in corners and things, I love it :D

last session of the day starting to get more used to it -

very busy session with a lot of traffic -

Looks pretty good girl.
Did you try getting power down earlier out of that hairpin?
Proper semi slicks are much better than rsr aren't they!

Can hear it struggle for grip in the lower gears towards the Rev limit. Mine does the same but just keeps pulling.
Tbh I think you'll get a better idea of how it handles the power once your pushing harder through the corners and powering on abit earlier.
All too come though, it's adjusting to how quickly the corners come up isn't it!
