Well Cadwell..what can i say..absolutely LOVED every second. She was perfect the whole day, the track is incredible and I had the most beautiful weather all day. She used no oil, no brake fade, crappy road tyres even lasted the day without giving up. Car handles brilliantly, loved hall bends so much and it felt amazing round mansfield at the bottom of the hill and up the chicane towards the mountain!
Really felt the lack of torque however with all the hills. It's hard to explain but I was honestly expecting a little more from it. I love it in second, it feels like it pulls the whole way, then you change to third and it feels like it's just taking it easy again untill you're in the last 2k-ish when it starts really pulling again - same with 4th but there's even less pull. Wondering if the intake could have something to do with it, so I'll be taking both on my next track day, but it could well be gear ratios or my driving style haha
also desperately wanting uprated engine mounts, hate the feeling of it moving so so much when im used to a car with solid mounts ha

just to prove she can be dirty.. this is after the 500 miles or so from going to cadwell and back ha. there are NO jet washes nearby...not one!
poor thing...
I dont know who's idea it was to have white wheels as standard
I dont reemember ds2500s being this bad before haha
today I got cracking on my air con..it doesn't work and I'd rather save the extra weight/space so out it came! still need to do the stuff in the dash tomorrow though
some before and afters, because I take a lot of photos haha

I was coming round the corner to the long straight down towards park in 3rd and having to change to 4th before I got to the uphill bit. 4th was horrendous up there, ear bleeding drone with it feeling like it was going nowhere. Tried to come round in 2nd and attempt to stay in 3rd longer but its too fast a corner for 2nd
Still learning to drive the car for sure, it's powers so high up the rev range. I'm just not keen on messing with gears as it's a daily more than anything, its a tough one :/

A 4.785 or 4.9 final drive will improve things and keep it sensible.... Or full gear set then it will be amazing!

Yeah, cause when you shift it just before the dial points it to the red, you're out of vtec.

I'll carry on with where I left off with this
Removed the aircon bits out from inside the dash. Fiddly little job this ha.
took it apart to remove all the components inside the box. was so filthy inside, was definitely worth doing as it's just dead weight in the car!
Needed to block off the hole in the box from where the lines used to run through the firewall. got some polymoprh to make it airtight - this stuff is so cool!
I ordered in a genuine bung for my firewall too and fitted that..
and in
Pretty happy I managed to get it all done, and remove everything without any bodging/cutting too It's like it came this was as standard now
then some random Instagram photos of a few things that came next..
RSRs came!!
she got a really good service after Cadwell too
some foams
and some genuine OEM stickers from japan! £££££££
Mate bought his fresh import...so some photos as I've not really taken any of it with the decals on! Car looks so much better with them back on IMO!
Next up...bought a Vibrant 4-2-1 manifold from Duncan, was almost like new, it's in brilliant condition!
Heat wrap done and mani on!

Bought some UK 98 spec wheels in 15s for my track rubber... They were silly cheap, but the paint was pretty bubbled, as they're just my track wheels, I decided to refurb myself to tidy them up a little..
paint stripping
went for bronze with satin laquer to keep them looking matte!
and put them on so I could take my oem wheel's off to clean up a bit
naturally had to get photos haha
oem's came off for a bit of love..

Also I thought this was pretty interesting...after cadwell, I've had problems with my wheel nuts coming loose (I actually lost one or two) on my front wheels and have to keep re-torquing them. I'm guessing these have been powder coated at some point...
Wheel on the right is a front wheel, note all the whites gone from where it meets the hub compared to the rear wheel to the left!
And where the coatings all burnt off round the edge! Pretty hard to get a photo of, but this lips huge!
I dont really trust these wheels at all haha, so I'm pretty happy ive got different wheels for track now
Also did my centre caps as they were looking pretty sad!
Next up was my engine bay....!
I have a thing for dark/stealthy looking engine bays so the cam cover went off to my painter for smoothing and painting, along with my brake stopper as that was looking a bit tatty...
New stainless bolts for the stopper, skunk2 oil cap, passwordJDM carbon plug cover and black stainless dome nuts for the cover and I got these back!
Such a hard colour to photograph, but its a deep dark anthracite and I love it!
And one of my favourite purchases, my beautiful Carbing brace <3 I love it so much haha
Also relocated the throttle cable and rerouted the wiring that normally lies over the strut top/wing to the passenger side to tidy everything up a bit
Next was Mimms! I have to admit I was a little sad mine blends in quite a lot as shes totally OEM looking, but I do love it, and people who can appreciate a mint oem car gave me some lovely comments Went for little photoshoots with peeps while I was there, would of been rude not to!
Finally...I've taken my whale ***** off. I love the noise, but I didn't feel like it was doing the car any good, she did feel really hesitant between gears, and as much as I miss the noise, I'm a lot happier with how she drives
Thought I'd hate the look of my bay without the carbon, but I really prefer it!
Not sure if this will work, but heres a quick last listen of the whale intake before I took it off...Did love it haha

Japfest on Saturday and have two track time sessons, one AM and PM...and Cadwell booked again for the 17th! Can't wait to get back out there!!
