Nicole's turbo black ek9

Wow you've been busy! You must either have a lot of spare time or be very efficient!
The black on black wheel combo really does look great, what 8j wheels did you go for?

15x8 TE37s, just waiting for the guy to get back to me about finally shipping them from America, its been a slow process haha

What made you switch to the spoon calipers? How do they compair to the yellow speeds?

The yellowspeeds I got sent were for an ek4 and wouldnt fit, didn't wanna wait any longer for the right ones to be sent and some spoons came up just at the right time! Never got to try the yellowspeeds so I dont know :(

I have the same problem. It revs so high up to 2.5k-3k rpm during cold start with EML on. After about 5-10 minutes, I'll shut the engine and restart and the EML will go off. What fixed yours?

Leaking heater matrix was throwing up an engine overheating code :) bypassed the matrix and its all fixed :)

Aww I was really looking forward to a comparison on both brakes I'm thinking about some spoon ones for my car.

What and where exactly is that? Btw, I pm'd you :)

Not really much to report here, cars still going well. Feel a bit like I've fallen out of live with it atm though.
Just feel like I can drive it properly, and the last few track sessions I've had have all been piss poor.

Got both SPGs in FINALLY and my harness' - had them all sitting in the house for way too long and needed interior for the white one. Carpet is also out now since these pics. It's such a clean shell inside compared to my poor white one, looks like new inside!

Bought some tyres ready for my 15x8 - went for TD 1.2s in the end, as the price was just too good to ignore.
225/45/15 should hopefully make a difference!

Then on to japfest! Had an absolutely awesome time meeting everyone, never saw any of the show and just chilled with the ek9 guys all day!
I didn't have a great time on track though, slipping about everywhere.

some footage -

No track time photos! But chilling in the pits with @jesse888 at the end of the day.

Then went to Croft when the Time attack was on and booked 3 sessions -
chucked it down in the morning, span and locked up and generally hated every second

Then it dried up a bit, still greasy but by this point I think my confidence is getting pretty knocked.

Then drove straight down for Mimms the next day back at Rockingham, started raining the second I went to queue to go out, which was great! so more crappy track time, got two sessions where the car felt sketchy as hell, then one more when it was properly wet which I actually quite enjoyed when I just drove round like I was popping to the shops and sliding about ha
no footage as I didnt expect the track to be closed so much, no photos either, so a few from the pits will have to do

slyly getting into the pits with the show cars to change my wheels, leaving @StevieG teg outside :D

and waiting for the rain to stop with @DBMatt too

Wow fairly greasy at croft, looked like you where barely moving and the wheels locking.
Decent pics as usual...

Oh and love the sound of mine coming past at rockingham! Sounds much better from the outside than it does from my seat!

I wouldn't get to disheartened with the poor weather. The more you do track days in the wet you will learn to see it as a challenge rather than a chore.
There probably isn't one person on this forum who after there 1st wet track day thought "that was good"
I know I felt much like yourself. But now its just, get on with it and enjoy.
Do you do trackdays in your sandals??

This^ it's hard to learn and can be alittle risky but a great skill to develop for when it's dry.

I had a couple of minutes over at work, so now I have read through this entire project.
And I got to say that I love it! Nice racing and a clean build with goodies!

Two Thumbs Up and two big toes

My first ever trackday was in the pissing rain so I've done a few, but never with power and bald r888s I guess
Tbf, I was loving Rockingham at the end when there was no one else out and you could just go round at your own speed and kinda control the slides. It was dry the weekend before for Japfest though, and I hated every second. two sessions at Croft were dry and I was getting caught by a standard B16, just think I've lost my bottle a bit with the car :(

And no! I drive in speedcats, just change when I'm about to drive, it was pretty hot weather! I was in a skirt but changed to save my dignity as it was so windy, but ended up with my arse half out anyway ffs :run:

The car is looking great.. Bald tyres will ruin any car on the track esp one with plenty of torque.. For the wet it's hard to beat the likes of Ad08s

Also if your out in wet/greasy conditions disconnect your anti roll bars and fine tune tune with the damping and you should have a lot more control..also let some pressure out of the tyres

You will get used to it, this is the UK so rain is never far away! having a lot of torque doesn't help in the rain as the front tyres just struggle. Having a NA car in the wet is so much easier, especially a Honda with no torque:lol:
Between the wet and dry weekends, did you change anything on the car? Suspension wise? Tyre pressure's?

Haha, well just watch you don't drop a wheel on your toes:lol:

Last day I did in July there was an 80's CRX racing series driver, his words "you learn quicker in the rain".

Wasn't wrong, the following stint in the rain and 4 wheel sliding chasing a Westfield into a bend like a tit!
