Not really too sure what to do now...

A decent machine shop should be able to check both no problem. I know what you saying about the crank but it can happen, its only got to warp very slightly to cause problems.

I think you should work out what went wrong and rebuild it. Never give up on anything, no matter how bad it gets you down. Have you got some good close up pictures of that bearing what failed ? I'm puzzled why a main failed. Something must not have been right from the rebuild.

Yes just get it rebuilt, I've been quoted £400 for a rebuild if needed on my failing bottom end bearing.

never heard of a warped block, don't even think that's possible on a b-series. to much space between the liners and block casing for any serious heat to transfer between the two. i think you'd have some serious head warping before that ever happened.

Neither did I think it was possible till I seen it with my own two eyes.

very possible, saw my mates high comp b20 block warp on its first dyno run after it was tuned, due to no bracing...

b18=faster
B16=more reliable
I will get a healthy b16 a good gearing and a map i have seen people on here with over 200 bhp i think for b16 its very good and that is not slow good luck with whatever decision you make.

Buy my engine and i'll build you a gearbox labour free ;)

Haha, I may just take you up on that - getting the block checked over soon. If it's a no go I'll be giving you a shout.

if that shell has spun in the block then the block will need some machine work also,,,
