Went on my second trip to the ring last week. I booked a track day rather than going on a Tourist Day and got to tackle the ring without too much traffic. The EK9 stood out as something different amongst a crowd of serious ring goers in their Porsche GT3's and BMW M3's.

I'm still a rookie when it comes to the track but loved my time on the Nordschleife, despite moving much slower than most on the day. I managed to improve slightly on my lap time from last year but certainly not breaking any records.

Car Set Up:

EP3 Front Brake Calipers
Front 300mm Stoptech Discs
Ferodo DS2500 Pads
Spoon N1 Exhaust Backbox
Tegiwa Kevlar Intake
16" 98 Spec Integra Wheels with Kumho Tyres V70a 205/45 R16

Otherwise Standard OEM. Original B16B, Full Interior.

Video of one of my laps on the day:

Pictures of the 9:

A couple of other cars out on track:

Photographer was my Dad who was managed to get all the pictures in one day, quite a challenge considering the size of the ring.

Only issue of the trip was that our second car broke down in Belgium and is still there. I have got breakdown cover with the ADAC and hopeful it will get repatriated shortly.

Nice one! I can't see the video, stupid iphone won't let me click the image!
Could you send me the link via pm?

Looks good, hope the Jeep monster is sorted Asap!

Looks like you had a great time on that empty track, jealous! Car also looks great too!

How did you get involved with the trackday if you don't mind me asking?

Some nice pics your dad took, what's that Mercedes towards the end? Looks interesting!

Nice video and pictures mate. Car seems to pull really well, looked like a nice and smooth lap as well

Cheers man. Yeah, need the daily jeep back in action.

Found the trackday online and thought it would be a good idea. Quieter track and not having to worry about the insurance side of things.

The car is an Isdera Imperator 108i. First time I had ever seen one and it was a really impressive bit of kit. Only car I know of with a periscope.

Car looks fantastic!!

LFA is ace too

Thanks guys :nice:

Nice! How much was a Trackday?

Trackday was £500. 9:00 - 17:00, open pit lane style format with only 120 cars maximum.

Nice one man. Making this an annual thing now? Are you up at KH this summer? Me and Edd thinking 24th July (we went up Tuesday just there). Don't know if I'll get my new gear box on time tho :0

Car looks beautiful mate :nice:

One quick question if you dont mind me asking, Did you use spacers to fit the ep3 brakes under the 98 specs? Also are you running ep3 rears?

Nice one, car looks great! Just shows you how good the OEM suspension is.

And that 'Ring Edition Lexus LFA is heavenly.

Yeah could see it becoming a regular thing. Keen to get to Knockhill this summer. 24th July should be good with me if your going.

Cheers man. Don't have any spacers, the brakes fit well under the 16'' wheels. Car spends most of his time on EK9 OEM wheels and spacers aren't need for them either, although it is a tight fit.

Use the larger wheels on track to stop the temperatures getting too high.

What discs are you using? As ep3 discs dont fit ek9 hubs?

300mm Stoptech Discs which are drilled to fit the EK9 hub.

Ouch! Does that include the Grand Prix circuit?

I know. No GP circuit included. Managed to get lots of time on track and tried to get my monies worth.

Still cool to have the ring quiet though! That's why we go during the weeks now it's much quieter.

Tbh £500 isn't that bad.
As said its quiet and less numpies on the track with you. Less closures etc
