Hi, I know this has been posted a couple times and I've searched my ass off..

but all I can find is about converting from KPH to MPH..

now I am trying to find a way to convert my UK bought car from MPH to KPH.

I was thinking about just taking the cluster out and replacing it with either a JDM or EUDM cluster, which will probably just fix it for my speedometer, but I was wondering about the Odometer, will it also start counting in kilometers ? or will it still be counting in miles ? because I need to fix that aswell, so it can count in kilometers otherwise I can't get "MOT" on it here :)

I've been thinking about a couple things but I don't know for sure how far I have to go..

put a jdm cluster in and it fixes all ?
also change the vss in the transmission ?
put a device between my vss and the ecu ?

anyone know something that helps here ? :)

thanks !

Whats the reason you are changing this ?? Do you live in the U.K

To be honest it think its illegal to change MPH to KPH if the car came as MPH from the factory..

As in its ok to KPH if it came from japan like it, but changing it to KPH is probably illegal. I'd check with VOSA first..

all based on you being in the uk mate ;)

Nah, I live in Belgium :D
I imported a ukspec em1 vti coupe because they were only sold in the us, canada and the uk. :)

So now I want to convert mph to kph and I know that if I just change the cluster to a jdm orveuropean one thatwould fix my speed readings, well at least I think so.. but it's the odometer where I'm stuck :p

on my friends jdm ek3 we changed the cluster to a uk spec and we got mph, so i'm guessing put in a jdm cluster and you get kph...

does the odometer count in miles aswell ? :) or does that still count in km ?

If you put a Japanese KPH cluster in a UK car it will work and read in KPH as well as count the distance in KM's and vice versa I found it easier for MOT purposes etc... to put an EJ9 cluster in my Import SiR and works perfectly. Also bought a UKDM cluster for my dads DC2 as he wanted MPH. Had to retain the original fuel gauge though, works perfectly and as accurate as factory.

I found that some of those converters can be highly inaccurate.

Thanks ! that's the answer I was hoping to get :D
