Hi,

Apologies for my first post jumping straight into technical, but I am after some advise and after searching I thought I'd ask. We are currently in the process of a B16 build to run in a Saloon championship next season. All major parts must be from a UK car (shell, engine and gearbox). I am currently spec'ing up the build to run in the 2.0 litre n/a classs and am aiming for 200bhp (so not silly horsepower from an n/a).

I have a choice of 2 ECU's (currently in possession of), and whilst I am familiar with the K Series Honda engine, the B Series is relatively new to me. Can anyone give an opinion on whether an AEM (10-9070) or Apexi would be more suited to the tuning of an n/a B Series?

Thanks

I have an AEM V2 EMS mapped on my standard b16b and all i can say is that the improvement has been massive provided you have a good tuner/mapper. Cant judge the Apexi as i have never run one of them but the rep of AEM ECU's is second to none.

Thanks for the response, that's good to know! I am currently siding towards the AEM after my experience with the K Series, but the Apexi intrigues me and seems to come up more often when I searched on this forum.

What about the Hondata S300? Or do you need a standalone system?

I currently own the two ECU's I mentioned so it would seem the better option. Unless there is a descernable reason why the S300 is a better option for the B Series?

Ah sorry, I didn't read it correctly that you already own both Ecu. I couldn't possibly comment on them because I've never used or had anything to do with them.

I run the Hondata system on my ek9, it's the only tunable Ecu I've used and it works perfectly for me.

I'd say all the systems would be perfectly fine to use, it's the map that's installed on them that's the biggest part.
