Crack boys im hiting nurburgring in 6 weeks :nice: but dont know what pads to get. Looking for good high performance pad...??

Depends on what you want to spend.
Personally I can recommend Hawk HP+. Awesome bite and can take a lot of heat but produce loads of dust and I suffered quite a bit with deposits on my disks.

For a cheaper option I find EBC Yellows are very good for the money and are what I use nowadays.

Probably loads of info and opinions about pads on this forum if you search for it.

last box of project MU hc+ here, reduced to clear £160 delivered, should be over £200

in this price range quite possibly the best high performance pad on the market

I run EBC Yellows most the time, excellent for the money. Or for a little bit extra EBC Bluestuff, they have a better bite from cold but give off alot more dust.

EBC Yellow is deffo cheaper. I've got them now. Haven't used them hard yet but in daily driving they're great. And from what I read in reviews they are just as good as the DS2500 when it comes to performance.

Nurburgring is a whole different kettle of fish, it's not really a hard track on brakes

You want something that will bite well from cold and most importantly remain progressive

Last year i went over with Carbone Lorainne RC6 pads which are a full cintered very aggressive pad and without ABS i was locking up into corners in speeds of up to 120mph, these pads on the other hand were fab at Knockhill where they were continually kept up to a reasonable temperature

All comes down to budget really, but EBC yellows are a great option, never been a fan of the DS2500 as they are such a soft pad and on the road are great as a "fast road" option but on track they won't last long

Hawk HP+ mentioned above is a decent option, i used to cook these big time at knockhill after a few hard laps, but in Germany they would have plenty time to cool between corners

If you can stretch a bit further then would look into the AP dixcel range, the type Z is a bit of an on/off pad due to its soft compound, have a set of these spare for my brembos and not the biggest fan, but the R01 pad is my favourite i've tried to date, not too bad dust wise, but the braking power and fade resistance is phenominal

as mentioned above the dixcel R01 pads are superb, and the HC+ mu pads i have here id say are in the same league, a little more expensive though, the dixcels are £185 or so i believe. at £160 delivered, the box of MU's i have here is a great bargain, the next batch will be full price of £200 again

r01 effective operating temp begins at 200 deg c but hc+ begins at 0.

From what I've heard, I'd stay away from the Dixcel type z stuff. I can think of numerous people who've said they've have very bad vibration from their disks when using them and the reason given by the manufacturer is that they weren't properly bedded in.
The bedding in procedure is ridiculous - 10 hard stops from 100mph!!

Yellow stuff or ds2500,
Used the yellowstuffs with standard calipets and performed awesome both on road and track, now with my wilwoods i'm using ds2500 good pad, but soft and dusty, probs return to yellowstuff next.

fantastic pad, best pad in that categeory/temp range ive used, very highly recommended, shockingly nice cold bite that isnt harsh and very smooth and progressive, when hot even better

i ran project mu b force on ring which is lesser pad than above and was fine on the ring

i've used this bedding in procedure with every set of pads i've used and works amazing

slowing down from 80-20 numerous times in a row until you can smell the brakes. Burns off all the resins on the top layer of the pads and seats them nicely to your discs

fannying about with brakes just glazes them over

399 - all good looking at the specs on paper, but i've actually used both and know the way they perform (run HC+ in my dads FD2 all round). the R01 will still bite from cold however will cope with an immense amount more heat, as i said, possibly a bit overkill for most

have a got search around, a pad which someone rates may not be for you. its done to personal taste/ driving style/ usage.

imy
