Hey guys, haven't really been on here lately but I popped on today and had a poke round and though I should pop up a build thread, just copied from civiclife :)

Hey everybody, so I've had my civic about 2 months now, haven't really done alot to it but I thought it's about time I put up a build thread, so here we go

Day I picked her up, loved it already! And I didn't even have VTEC haha.

Over the first week or so I didn't really do any mods because buying the car used most of my money. She's lowered on KW Coilovers with a Spoon N1 rep, that was it for the moment.

First up was a decent service, so I changed all the fluids, the plugs and all the filters got some new pads and disks, demontweeks managed to send the wrong disks but I thought I'd hold onto these for a rear disk conversion

Then I wound the coilovers down abit more, actually there as low as they go haha! But I think she's sits nice now.

Next up was a type r front lip totally changed the car I think, love it! Also fitted the jap plates I had with the car, front end was looking nice now, all it needs is some EK9'd lights and it will look the part but that will come later.

D14 powwaaaaa! Haven't decided what to do with the engine yet, insurance won't really let me swap it suppose it will give me time to sort out the bodywork and paint though.

Might need to wind those coilovers back up! front lip catches alot, and she really doesn't get on with speed bumps or any sort of incline haha. Next up was a lick of fresh paint so I decided to do abit of colour coding, don't think it came out too bad for a spray can in a dusty garage still need to do the door handles, wing mirrors and front lip, but I think I might leave that to the professionals

Bit of 6TWO1 bling in next! Think the brushed steel stickers go really well with the silver car As for wheels I decided on black Rota GT3's with the candy red rim, absolutely love them, scared to drive incase I hit a kerb! Haha. Wrapped with Uniroyal Rainsport 2's fantastic tyres! Couldn't get better for the great British weather. Also got an EP3 red recaro from Wasabi on here, absolute pleasure to deal with! Very helpful, perfect guy to buy off

So that's how the car is sitting now so far I'm loving it! All comments and criticism welcome, though I'd prefer nice things stay tuned for updates and thanks for reading.

So I picked this up,

A B16A2 :) it came up cheap so I had to grab it! Got the Y21 gearbox and P30 ecu with it too :) It's done just over 70k miles and although the outside doesn't look that nice I have stripped it down and it looks very clean and healthy inside, so here's hoping for the best haha, I should be fitting it early in September, so gives me some time to try sort out the looks on it.

So, the engine swap has started, has to change my 2 lower ball joints which was a small delay but once they were done it took about 6 hours to get the engine out :)

Found this in one of my fuel lines, can't be good :/ haha

So that's how the car is sitting now, paint will start probably on Saturday and then get the B16 in next week :D can't wait, had a slight problem with the looms, turns out I need a facelift EK4 loom, but I should have sorted one of those :) stay tuned for an update on the weekend!

So, today I started on painting and I love how it's turned out! :D

Started out with a bit or primer then 3/4 coats of VSM

The VSM turned out nice, thought about leaving it at that but now it's all finished I'm glad I didn't haha

Time for some candy apple red! Oh it looks nice! Never sprayed candy apple before so I took it easy with the first coat, which turned out to be very pink :/

Turns out it's easier than anything to spray, engien bay isn't the nicest thing to be spraying but the paint went on nicely and the colour soon darkened!

The photo's really don't do it justice! It looks like a layer of glass layed over the silver paint! I love it! Wish I had the time to smooth/tuck the bay now haha, maybe that will come at a later date!

So that's the finished product, stay tuned for the B16 going in :)

So, I got the engine cleaned up today and got everything put back in the bay :)

I definitely need to tuck the bay but really don't have the time at the moment :/ hopefully I can get it done soon though

Nice and clean, the engine is in the bay now and all mounted up, didn't snap any photos though, just waiting on an engine loom and alternator and we should be ready to go! I can't wait!

Got the engine in now it's all connected up, shafts, gear linkage, exhaust just waiting on the loom and I'm ready for some VTEC! Hopefully so here's how the bay is looking at the moment, desperately needs a tuck :/
