Ive just had my engine built,

Running a b18c bottom end with ek9 pistons, im running skunk2 pro2 cams

Just wanted to know if anybody else has run this setup before and what the piston to valve clearance was like, before i do anything i am going to clay the engine but just to be on the safe side i wanted to know if anybody else has had problems with this set-up

any feedback will be much appriciated

I have the same set-up though on a B16b and even then it was tight with stage 2's. I don't hold out much luck that there won't be contact. Tell us how you get on though.

itll depend if the heads been skimmed or not, i'd say you should be okay but best to clay to be sure

what is claying

you lock out the rockers so vtec is engages, use a small amount of plasticine or clay on top of the piston, and turn over by hand - this will tell you your piston to valve clearance, pretty much essential with any high comp, cammed build to determine if the valve reliefs need enlarged

Id say you should be okay. This was a common engine build back in the day.

But defo clay motor
