Guys, today I had my buddy club coilover installed. I told them i wanted a 2 finger gap and in the end they lower it more than 2 finger gap and said they had to fix the height to make it good and its 1 finger gap now. However, then i stick my index finger in the gap between the wheel and wheel well, it could not fit. The only way for my 1 finger to fit is to tilt it up like you're pointing up.

I thought 1 finger gap means your finger has to be align straight with the wheel and fit in the gap, sorta like this: ---->____ (the arrow is the finger and the ____ is the wheel).

i dont know if you guys understand wat im saying, please help

(BTW, the front is higher than the rear, they said it takes about 1 week for the front to sink down and be same height as rear, is it true?)

new springs take time to settle in, when installing new coilovers i always leave them at stock height or a little low then adjust ride height the next day :nice:

its not the shops fault imo, they probably set it up that way and then the springs settled.

Adjusting ride height is a very touchy thing, its not something that a shop likes to do because it takes time.

I don't know how much your springs will settle (can you tell us the spring rate?), but its not going to be much. You should tell them to set it to the 2 finger gap you wanted, but make it a 1/4" higher in the rear. And make them do it for free because they did it against what you wanted in the first place. AND, if they know the procedure, ask them to reset the suspension bushings after the final ride height adjustments. But only ask them to do this if you can be there and watch, because they could charge you and you will never know if they did reset the bushings. Resetting the bushins sets them at neutral during static ride height, instead of being loaded when the car is sitting, this extends the suspension bushing life. The procedure, step 4 pic performance

By the way, I know what you mean by its so low you have to tilt your finger up. Thats less than a 1 finger gap.
