R1PPU's EJ9 Build Up

That looks mega clean dude. Gloss black for painting it?

Funny you should say that... :p

That's the holder finished, painted it pretty poorly in my shed with some paint I found in there but it fits pretty well!

I've updated my CAD model and hopefully going to get the new one 3D printed as I know that will fit.

My plan was to buy the gauges this month but I'm buying a new camera and going to India for a week, so they have to wait for a bit.

Cool sounds like a vtec subaru hahaha

Haha yeah, will swap the cheap manifold out at some point but it sounds better than a D14! :D Me and Steve were saying this last night, this all started after we realised the old engine and exhaust combo were too quiet...aha

Just need some nice earth's made up now man

Yeah for sure dude, one of those little things I'll sort eventually!

So, bought a new camera, went to India for a week and now stressing like mad for my final semester at university. Life is good :))

Haha yeah, I wish it didn't! Just glad I still live at home til September or the civic would be long gone haha.

To be fair, both times I did Rockingham it was HOT and I was pretty hard on the brakes and the pedal never faded, so I don't think I need to worry about the heat dissipation (or lack of) from the drums when I'm driving it sensibly in shitty weather haha

Daft wee update:

Got new tyres after realising mines were ruined, dunno how I missed them getting that bad.

Made some new radiator brackets quickly as the ones we made at the engine swap were pretty rushed, these are a lot neater. Might re-do the passenger side one as the bends aren't quite right. Had a play with the camera too.

Now done 2700 miles since the engine swap, oil level on the dipstick has gone down about 5mm in this time. Was using a bit of water at the start but isn't anymore. Got a new IACV to fit after I've got a new coolant hose for it, as the ones on there just now look a bit worse for wear. Engine doesn't smoke at all.

All in all, I'm a very happy person. Again, my mates are the best :nice:

Looking good bud!
You at japfest this year?
