Just wondered if anyone can help confirm if these are real or not? Have read about there being counterfeit function7 LCAs and ways to identify fake ones. Would help if these can be confirmed for peace of mind though, cheers :)

Could be fake. If these were real, that's some poor machining work there!

Ye I noticed the fake ones have 7075-F6 marked on them which mine don't so leads me to believe these are genuine. Thanks for the help! :)

Hi everyone.

Someone brought this to our attention recently.

All the images show a counterfeit Function7 arm. These arms all share the same "serial number" (24100284). There is no inspection sticker/barcode, and the arms look significantly different from the arms that we manufacture.

Every arm we manufacture has a unique serial number engraved on one side of the arm in a single-line font, as well as a unique inspection barcode sticker.

We have yet to trace the source of these parts but they all bear the same "Made in the USA" in italicized font (we use a wider & smaller font for that). Our bushings also feature a two-piece aluminum insert and our poly bushings are black in color.

For further comparison, please visit the product pages on our website at: Welcome to Function7 Engineering | Function7 Engineering

This is what the genuine EK arms look like:

Thanks!

Any chance that the barcode sticker could've just come off? I was told the bushings have been changed so that's why they aren't black. Thanks for the reply

Why would anyone bother changing already uprated bushes on a new set of genuine arms. This single clue would seal the fact they are fake.

No, the labels are pretty very hard to peel off once it's set (i.e. a few hours they are applied). The adhesive-backed labels leave a sticky residue on the arms when peeled off and can only be cleaned off with strong petroleum based solvents. In addition, we REQUIRE the barcode numbers for any warranty claims, so if you purchase any of our products (real or otherwise) that are missing the inspection barcode numbers, you will NOT be covered by the warranty. That's why our tags are made to stay on - we don't want them to fall off under any condition.

Please compare the pictures our website (no, not on the counterfeit page, but the actual product page itself) and you will notice that they hardly look alike at all.

We would recommend that you file a complaint with ebay, file for a refund, and we will be happy to provide any proof to back up your complaint.
