Red S15 Spec R Build

So I picked up this the other day!

A J’s Racing Type 1 spoiler! Looks a lot better than the copies in my opinion. While it wasn’t raining I gave it a quick size up and confirmed that I would need to make up some new brackets to get it to fit correctly.

Should be getting it fitted on Friday depending on the weather along with a couple of other jobs!

Got some up to date pictures the other day, may as well put them up!

As projects are never actually finished I’ve got more jobs planned for this. Ordered some 20mm vented front fenders, this will get rid of my current ones which I not happy with, also give me a bit more clearance. From my experience wide arches never come up as wide as advertised!

Got a Nismo short shifter fitted the other day, I was a bit sceptical but it has improved the shift quite a bit which is good.

There’s a few small jobs left like spraying the spoiler mounts and finishing the gold tape under the bonnet etc. They will get done one day… one day!

Awesome! Nice to see an S-body that isn't held together with cable ties. Did you have any issues with the loom on the drivers side wheel arch? Im just in the process of relocating mine and smashing in the arch for more clearance :nerv:

Those wheels need more dish though mannn ;)

Love it though. Absolutely stunning example!

I've had no problem with loom so far. It's tucked up as far as I could make it though it, also sleeved it with some thick protection just in case.

I agree with the wheels. It's going wide arched... maybe... of course it is haha!

Got a couple more bits sorted. New brake discs and pads all round as the old ones were pretty much spent. I forgot to get a picture of the fronts! I went for EBC discs and Porterfield pads.

I finally finished the gold tape under the bonnet, been putting this off for months as I lost the reel of tape I bought!

I doubt it does anything tbh, it does look cool though!

And the final recent thing is some new front wings to replace my old badly rolled rusted ones!

I’ve got some spacers on order to fill them out in the arches better. I will get different wheels which won’t need spacers in time, but for now they will do. Won’t be long till I get them back from the paint shop now.

I remember doing my gold heat tape on my bonnet, took me forever. Mines has stopped lacquer peel on my carbon bonnet, well prevented it, before I had the tape on you could see a burn mark coming through where the exhaust manifold was, put the tape on and it's been fine ever since.

While I was away with work I was lucky enough to get a connecting flight in Tokyo so I had a few hours to explore. I made it to Super Autobacs and it didn’t disappoint!

When I arrived home I went and collected the fender from paint, they did an awesome job!

A quick test fit before I got them bolted on.

The new spacers were fitted and then the fenders with nuts and bolts not cable ties ha!

After this I had to go away with work again, when I came back home I was greeted with this view!

FFS! that last picture makes me so sad :(

Japland looks like the place to be for parts  didn't manage to smuggle any goodies back?!

Think I could spend all day in that shop, having the same problem with birds around mine too, swallows are the worst :(

I managed to get a few things back, only stuff I could get in my carry on though!

Not much has happened, I’ve done a full service and had the front bumper blown over to get rid of a few scratches. It looks pretty good without a front bumper ha!

Fitted the bumper back on and gave it a quick clean and polished the wheels. Will be giving it a detail tomorrow for its wedding duties at the weekend!

Thanks for the comments!

Been enjoying the car over the past few weeks and doing a few jobs here and there. Went to a small local meet and got a couple of photos taken by Rob Schaverien, awesome pics as always!

I’ve since given the paintwork its first machine polish ready for wedding duties last weekend and ready for the show and shine at JDM Combe and Players Classic in the next couple of weekends.

It was given a full clay, compound, polish then wax. Took a fairly long time but the swirls are hardly visible now. Red was very satisfying to polish I have to admit!

My close friend Matt had asked to use both the S15 and my Aristo for his wedding, who was I to refuse! I got both cars cleaned in the morning then ribbons put on ready for the drive to the venue.

Day after the wedding I went out for an evening drive with the misses, I had forgotten about this spot! So I may as well whore out a few more pics ha!

Not much has happened again really! Been to a couple of shows, JDM Combe and Players Classic at Goodwood which was especially good this year. Got some great pics taken by Rob Schaverien again!

On the way back from Players, driving onto the ferry my front bumper caught on the ramp and cracked! The most annoying thing was one of the ferry staff was stood about 4ft away from me and didn’t say a thing about it being close as I was edging onto the ferry!

So another time to get my bumper resprayed yet again! I agreed with my friend Joe who is handy with fibreglass that I would polish his Mk2 Escort in return for him fixing my bumper ready for paint.
