Hi there I was refitting a door card yesterday after the door solenoid packed up and it took me ages. Now I have done this a few times and always seem to have trouble so can someone please help me on the correct way to do this as in does the small wing mirror cover need to be fitted before the card goes back in or fit it once the door card is back in?

Window up or down ?

Tilt the door card up at the back right hand side and slide it in maybe.

Any help / advice gratefully appreciated. Maybe its always a pain to refit, just thought I would ask.

Thanks

Hey mate. If im honest the honda door cards are some of the easier ones to be putting back together after a strip. I do mine with the window upeverytime, i also just sit the wing mirror trimmer in place without clicking it into it retainer so it has a bit of movement when your doing the card. make sure to insert the top edge (the edge that lowers into the window recess seal) First. The front edge of the window recess lip is the tricky twat to get in so start with pressure there and work it back along the window.

If you think the recess is seated correctly stop and get your head under the door card to check the alignment of the stamp pins. thats your check to make sure its ready to slam back in.

I have put the door card on without the mirror trim in place. the trim does go back on after but its a tight squeeze and a little worrying to do on a mint doorcard.

hope it helps bud

Thats a big help. Thank you very much.

Do you tilt the card at all towards the mirror end and up at the rear of the car end if you get what I mean or offer it up parallel to the window.

Thanks again

hmm from memory it does feel tilted a bit but it kinda sits in at the same time. its just that front edge thats a bugger the rear side should follow it with a firm push. i also find honda interiors take a bit of hammer so dont be too scared :p

(that is a figure of speech dont actually use a hammer)

Thanks again Silvs I am going to remove passengers door card tomorrow as lock is sticking occasionally so will report back how I got on..

Think leaving the mirror cover loose like you said might help a lot.

Cheers
