How easy is it to remove the EK9 headlining. Do you need to strip out the whole interior or can it be removed on its own. I would want to refit the headlining afterwards.

Many Thanks

Im fairly sure u just unscrew the flat plastic tabs holding it up then remove the pillar covers, and sun visors. Its fairly obvious when u look at it realy.

Thanks for reply Ellis do the pillar plastics pop off ?

I am hopeless when it comes to interior plastics. I either break them or cut my fingers. Virtually every time without fail.

Yeah mate you will also need to remove interior light, jesus handles and anything obstructing it.

Haha dont we all mate! yeah they are just clipped in, try prying them from both ends at the same time usualy does the trick :nice:

Thanks Ellis seriously then you have the grief of getting the blood of stuff, nightmare lol

You have to strip the hole interior. Quite ease as I have done so many.
If you want to pay me to do it I would be happy to help. Im just down In Theale near Reading.

remove rear seats, speaker covers, speakers, rear boot plastic, rear quarter plastics, upper rear quarter plastics (requires removal of seatbeat bolts and boot strut bolts), A pillar plastic covers. Once all that is off you can start to remove the headlining. need to turn the sunvisior grips 90deg to take them off, the rest are a combination of screws and plugs. :nice: a day could have it all in and out.

Thanks elchunk, it seems to be getting more and more complicated. Are the plastic sided panels held in with screws or do they just pop off in your face lol

Thanks

Moray

its a mix of screws and plugs, just make sure you've all the screws out before you start trying to pry bits off. its not that bad of a job. just need to keep track of what goes where and have a bit of space to set things once there out.
