Haven't posted on here for a good while now. Plan on using this thread to keep a log of what ive done/doing with the car. Having logged on here after a while it was good to look back on old threads I had made on the car etc.

I started my love for Hondas with the 96 spec JDM DC2 in 2011, fantastic car which I sold after a while and then got an Accord Type S with the K24, sold this to a chap over in Ireland. Following this I bought the euroR in Jan 2013. Absolutely loved this car, I moved to spain and took it with me, moved back to the UK and sold it because of personal reasons to another chap in Ireland. I then bought my friends JDM EP3 to sell on as that needed some work doing to it. I then bought an L200 Warrior for work, used it twice for its purpose in 4 months so sold it. I then had no car for over year. I kept track of the euroR and bought it back around 3/4 weeks ago. I paid more than what I sold it for and bought it back with problems lol but it meant a lot to me, I have a strong bond with this car.

Anyway, some pics of the previous cars in order of ownership and quite a few from my new term of ownership with it this time round.

Since getting the car back I have given it a much much needed clay, polish, glaze, seal and wax. Removed the wheels to give them a good clean and seal inside and out. Set about repairing the rear spoiler lights (LEDs either side - Honda Modulo Spoiler). Replaced the rocker cover gasket, though there is still oil leaking around the top.

Ordered a full set of engine mounts - all 4 as the engine is lurching quite severely in lower revs when coasting and also in gear changes, also the car pulls to the left under throttle, so I think the engine and drivetrain is twisting under throttle (tracking is spot on and free wheels in a straight line)

Nearside front drop link needs replacing which I hope will sort out a rattle/loose sound/feeling from the nearside front corner.

Replaced the center cap with original Honda caps, albeit not the original euroR spec ones, though these look more up to date and fresh.

So the to do list for my benefit to tick things off and keep track - Maintenance and Repair:

- Replace 5th syncro which is a common problem with Accord Type Rs (as its crunching in 5th at higher revs, currently double clutching)
- Clean the EGR valve and plate
- Valve Stem seals need replacing
- All the niggles with the body work, too much to list here, mainly overspray, chips, odd scratch, cracks etc Front splitter has been resprayed the wrong colour since I sold it, so that needs matching
- Replace rear nearside light due to a chip in the corner
- Replace wheel nuts
- Line up the rear plate
- Weld up exhaust and center it up better

Modifications to do list:

- Upgrade speakers and fit better sound deadening behind them
- Coilovers
- Would like larger brakes that fit under the standard 16's
- Replace front tyres so they are matching, for some reason there is a budget tyre on one corner

Being an import, how are you finding it for availability and price of parts etc?

Nice update there bud.

Hope you get the euro r back to its former glory.

Thank you, as its a car to keep it will get to its former glory eventually.

Being an import, how are you finding it for availability and price of parts etc?

Luckily it shares a lot of parts with the UK Accord Type R.

Honda parts for these are tending to be on the expensive side for example: UK Honda wanting £225 for just the left hand engine mount, but I can buy it direct from Japan Honda with postage for £125ish before any import duty taxes in the UK. I had a van drive into the side of it the last time I owned it and UK honda sourced me the parts from all over the world: Japan, Caribbean, Belgium and Canada I think it was, they even brought the parts to my door which was very helpful, that was for a wing/door/sill/ wing mirror which are all unique to the CF/CL chassis which is not sold in the UK or Europe and the prices were reasonable.

Other than that, Japan Yahoo Auctions is handy for parts, I use my mate for them parts who has an agent in Japan (for example I needed a HID balast, Honda wanted over £200 for this part, if I remember right it was nearer to £400, with it being unique to this car I used my mate and yahoo auctions, got an entire light unit and balast for £14 from Japan). Mudah.my (abit like gumtree) in malaysia is handy too and finally Russia. Ive managed to get contacts in these countries now so quite handy for finding parts and them shipping to me if needs be.

Lengthy reply lol but I guess it helps you and anyone else who comes across this which is interested.

Lengthy reply = helpful read.

I did look at buying one a few years ago when the misses was expecting our first, but looking into costs I ended up getting a 2004 Accord Type S instead.

Nice car though still, I suppose the CL7 euroR would be the next choice
