**Rigid Collar kit** Spoon.

Saw these a while back. Speedhunters did a feature on a R34 having these fitted.

Stupidly overpriced but i like the idea. What i cannot work out is how they sell a rear subframe kit for the EK,EG,DC2?

i email stiffring and got reply about their kit :

USD115 10pcs set Honda Civic [EG/EH/EJ1/EJ2/EK], Integra [DC2/DB8] Front
USD15 for shipping fees to Cyprus (International signed parcel)

i gues shipping to rest of europe will be around the same same price (15- maybe 20usd)

Good but what about the ones to the rear? Aren't they included in the price?
Stiff Ring - Available Model
Honda Civic [EG/EH/EJ1/EJ2/EK], Integra [DC2/DB8] Front 10 pieces
- Honda Civic [EG/EH/EJ1/EJ2/EK], Integra [DC2/DB8] Rear 8 pieces

nope i asked only about front kit, rear kit should be around 100usd.

These look so easy to knock up on a lathe, and all you need to measure is the width of the hole and the width of the bolt. The tolerances from Honda wont be all that tight in the two holes anyway. The ally just needs to be soft enough to deform slightly when the bolt is tightened.
I'm not here to rip off Spoon but for a glorified washer it seems a bit extortionate.

We will soon be doing these for most Honda

We now know exactly what grade of aluminium Spoon use. Metallurgical lab tested in Birmingham.

Watch this space!

I saw that one coming..

It's all good when spoon do the R&D and you just knock them up ;)

spoon price is ridiculous for a kit of "washers"

this is how the stiff ring kit looks like (which is less than half price of the spoon :

I remember seeing these a pop up a couple years ago, it's a perfectly sounds modification, however pricing from Spoon is outrageous. But people will spend whatever just to say they have spoon parts.

If there is a group buy a more affordable option i might have to get in on it.

Spoon love to bent people over and screw them up the ass.

Seems that Blox and a few other companies have manufactured similar products for half the price if not less. I'm contemplating doing a full write up on them this summer when i'm out at the track. It would involve a comparison test. I would run the first day without them, install that night at the track, then see what difference they made the following day.

Only real issue is ensuring that my alignment is the same, which would probably take more time than installing the parts! Might be something fun to do though.

I know this is an old thread and sorry to bring up old news but I have seen these online and am quite interested. There are lots of different brands now which seem to be the better kits? And price? Also fitting how easy are these to fit?

Cheers

cheeky 8 year bump!

Surely people can give some reviews on the spoon and other brands by now?

I put my subframe on the other day with all the bolts in place but not fully tight and the amount of movement is ridiculous, looks about 5mm on each bolt!
