ok..only reason i asked is the new engine is running like a bag of crap..ive no induction kit so thought it mite be that..

I found a noticable power drop with no intake, But engine should idle and rev fine. Check for airleaks!! Particularly around the inlet manifold. I had a engine idling and running crap, found it was airleak between inlet mani and head. Could be various reasons, but you did mention a new build, I'd start there.
