Saqib's EK9

Looks good man, so very fresh. What's in the pipeline now then?

My perfect ek9. Got the perfect mods for a road going car. Like the way this is going :)

Nice updates here.
Defo oem+ going on although I was expecting the spoon springs to lower the car more than they do.
PAS delete is great aswell right!

If Honda had released a special ed(not the race base) then this would be it.
Shorter box
Mildly stiffer suspension
Win!

Appreciated mate! :nice:

Thanks Jesse. It's nearly a standard ride height with the springs only lowering it by about 20mm. This is the look I was aiming for.

I really should've done the PAS delete sooner as it's so much better to drive now. I can justify it too as the car isn't my daily, more of a weekend toy.

Agree with your special edition comment with the addition of slightly better brakes and a less restrictive exhaust manifold.

Yeah pad change and a 98spec mani is likely what they'd have done.

Wee update here.

I upgraded the brakes about a week ago:

- Mtec blank discs all round
- Carbone Lorraine RC5+ pads all round
- ATE Typ 200 (Superblue) fluid

It didn't take too long to bed them in and immediately there was a noticeable difference over the OEM setup I was running previously. Considerably more bite and overall stopping power.

Only downsides are the slight squealing at low speed braking and a bit of brake dust. Despite this, I'm more than happy to be running a metal sintered pad all round from now on.

Looking good man! I'm finding it hard to stray from CL pads now lol

Cheers mate. I think I'll find it difficult to use an organic compound again now that I'm liking these metal CL pads.

Aye.
I'd be interested to hear what you make of the brake bias once you've been on track, I've never had the same compound front and rear(not with a proper pad atleast).

Update!

On Friday there (30th October) I had my first ever track outing which was on Knockhill. I'll cut straight to it: the trackday was epic.

The tyres, suspension and gearbox - among other things - all performed brilliantly on track. Manual steering was also a delight and the weighted feel was spot on.

Overall the weather was very good considering the time of year. When we arrived at Knockhill there was a bit of drizzle and the first few sessions were damp. The AD08 tyres gripped fairly well and I'd say they're decent for wet/damp conditions. After an hour, the track started to dry, the temperature increased a little and absolutely no rain either which made for ideal conditions.

I was especially impressed by the Carbone Lorraine RC5+ pads. Wow, absolutely no regrets with this pad choice and I highly recommend them or the more hardcore RC6. No fade and not once did I have to worry about stopping power on track. Magnificent.

I've definitely got the track bug. Not so much in terms of wanting to carry out track-oriented mods such as a cage, plated diff etc. but more so in wanting to become faster and smoother. I'd happily go round Knockhill with the exact same setup next year.

Not a lot of media, just a few snaps.

Nice one saq!
It becomes abit of an addiction

Excellent, so I'll be seeing you on track at japfest next year?
Or on an ek9.org trackday....

It's likely I'll end up at Cadwell next year so we could meet up there.

May i ask from were did you buy the CL pads from? I just installed some Ferrodo DS2500 which i am very happy with but seems like these CL are even better which i will surely consider for the future.

Thanks
