Yep full chat in 3rd kissed the limiter just about to brake and turn in, throttles dead and all I see I smoke in my mirrors. :-(

Knew it was coming eventually.

Parts available soon.

Holy Sh*t!

Take it your all right then and managed to stop the car safely?

Gutted!

So is your ADAC cover going to get car home for you?

Dunx

Oh no!! So gutted for you mate!

Yeah, still cost me 122euro for the labour.

I hope so but I am having to prove its value somehow. Got my Mum to send me a pic of the invoice for the engine so hopefully they will bring it home

Still can't work out what has happened. It's turning over ok, oil is as it should and coolant in the bottle. So what was the smoke and why did I loose total throttle? It's like I lost all 4 cylinder instantly....

Quite scary I thought I might have dumped oil all over the track.

Perhaps an ignition issue then?

Odd. Can you pull the plugs out and have a look at them perhaps?
Just throwing ideas in the air

shite sry to hear man unusual to hear a b18 **** itself to be honest

****. That is bad news, headgasket failure? Water leaking into the bores, white smoke, loss of compression?

Edit. My dads car actually had the same symptoms recently, sounds very similar to his situation when he had some valve to piston contact.

Yeah I had a rebuilt b16 drop a valve at 135 mph on track..few years ago. It felt like I ran out of fuel or the engine turned off. Not a good feeling at all.
I stripped the head and a valve was sticking out of piston no 2. The previous owner had the engine built by a monkey.

That really sucks man. Have you thought about breaking the engine and just fitting a standard B16b or B18c and just enjoying the car again without all the worries? I think it can be quite easy to get wrapped up in the numbers and power output etc.. That it is sometimes forgotten that these cars are amazing even with the little b16.

That's bad, hope you get it home alright,

Hopefully it's not so serious as it may seem,
As said If its terminal then drop a standard engine in, if you break the whole car you'll regret it and probably end up buying another one anyway!

I agree with this. Id rather have the car with a standard B18 than not at all

Thoughts currently are M3...

I think it has dropped a valve.

Won't find out for a couple of weeks.

I saw you leave for your first lap, literally ran over to say hello but then you went :D. Didn't see you again! :((

Doesn't sound good Ian, does sound likes its dropped a valve though. Just got back myself after nearly 25hrs
