everyone knows the 0-60 time of an ek9 is in the high 5 sec bracket, but i am asking the owners on here if that really is a time your car could be capable of or is it just a rumour? does it really feel that fast??

i have been in other cars around the same kinda 0-60 time as an ek9 but it just sounds so hard to believe that a 1.6 could be capable of such a time??

i'm not taking the pi$$ or implying that its a lie, but i just want to know from people who actually own one rather than have read on the internet about one.

i am actually buying one this year as i have stated in another thread and just want to make sure im not gonna be shown up by my mate's focus RS at the lights :hehe:

Don't think you will beat your mates Rs focus? Not with a standard ek9 anyway! As for the 0-60 in a ek9 think that time was done with the Spoon Ek9 civic which woulnd not of been standard:D

i dont believe that time! i think maybe its 7.x

i really doubt its as high as 7. something - if it is then theres something wrong with your driving or your ek9! even a std EG6 is ment to do it in 7.2-7.4

~Ok i dont have an ek9, but having easily caught up with a 2006 Scooby STI (from a almost dead stop) which has an aledged 0-60 of 5.3, and had a porche carrera 4 just slowly slowly pull away from me at another dead stop and they are ment to do 0-60 in 4.8. Going by those figures i would put my little civics 0-60 at maybe 5.1ish but i doubt it realy is that fast!

i dont know where you are, but porche owners in my country shift at 4500rpm even when they race, there all pussies!! there too scared to DRIVE the car. and about the sti, im sure he wasent trying either. what mods do you have done to your car? li have a b16b in an ej6 which weighs less than an ek9 and i cant keep up with a standard modded wrx.

Well this one was trying, 2006 LHD Carrera 4 in silver, i was following him off an island both of us rolling at maybe 15mph to start, then he was very slightly pulling on me (about 10ft gap total) till i hit my jdm speed limiter (112mph) then he naturaly took off - still he slowed down for me to catch up and gave me a thumbs up :)

Well we where both on track at the time so i cant see why he would have not been trying! especialy down the straights where i easily kept up with him. At one point i even spun off (trying too hard to get past him as he wouldnt let me past after 3 laps of being stuck up his rear end and blocking my overtaking) lost about 1/2 a lap on the guy and still caught him up again within 2 laps. Mines a pritty much std 2001 spec b16b (cat back spoon system and handling mods) in my little stripping out eg3 which weights around 920kg's.

b16b's rock in light cars :)

*edit* oh and ive also kept up with my mate in his dyno proven 300bhp S14A (again till the limiter)

I have a buddy club cat back system and a really really crappy induction kit and I clocked a 0-100kmph time of 6.1 seconds on a wet road in my EK9.

As for a standard EK9 keepin up with a standard JDM DC2 type R there's no hope of it happening, not now not ever!!!

I've owned 4 JDM DC2 type R's and 2 EK9's and know this for a fact!!!!!!

As for keepin up with a WRX (i owned a 99 wrx and a 99 STI V6 type R) , thats easy!!!! but you should have passed him on the track:D

you should pull away from an RS focus in an EK9 too :nice:

I owned a mitsubishi lancer evo 3 in some street racing, but the road had a lot of curves, 2000 cc lost against a 1600 cc lol

This is a very interesting thread :) - Did honda not release the actual figures? its very strange for a car not to have the manufacturer times logged (we all know even manufacturers speeds/times arent always correct but it gives you a guidline and thats the time people usually use as a comparison when talking about standard cars)
