Alright guys. New to the fourm and to hondas so any advice or opinions you have thanks in advance. Will update this any time i do bits and bobs. As the title says.. slow progress! All im aiming for at the minute is a clean and tidy looking car to do me for a year till insurance drops then i will upgrade so spending little money is a must unless i decide to keep it. Will see how i go...

Bought the car last monday. 70,500 on the clock, no rust and only a few minor scuffs so pritty chuffed!

1st task - Wheels. Spraying them gloss black and will run them through the winter. Few photos of the prep. Will get finished photos up soon hopefully. (Only done 2 so far as car is still along at the garage and has to stay mobile)

I know people will hate but as i said im wanting to spend as little as possible so ebay exhaust fitted for the moment. Actually sounds quite nice.

Thats all for just now but plans for the near future are..
->De Badge Rear
->Lower
->CC rear number plate recess
->Square Plates
->Respray front bumper because of scuffs and smooth for new plate
->Respray rear bumper because of scuffs
->CC strips and mirrors and skirts

More to come...

Thanks mate. As i said im not spending fortunes on the car as we all know it is pritty pointless on a d14 lump. Will look the part when its all done though ;)
 
Rims are going black mate. Was considering a change after winter but if im wanting a vti next year so i cant justify paying 2/300 quid for wheels that i could pit towards a new car hah
 
Nice progress I've got the same car just got it not too long ago too! Anyways is that the japspeed exhaust from 2fast2cool2 on ebay? Just wondering cause I was planning on getting one also. Any chance you can do a sound clip at startup!? :)

Cheerz mate. Aye it is, unless your willing to make it fit then dont buy it! I bought it and went to fit... it just didnt fit hah , phoned up etc and to cut the long story short they do NOT fot D seires although the guy claims his ad says it tells you this the origonal ad i bought from didnt say a thing which i emailed the guy the origonal ad etc and just got a lod of rubbish back. Dont get me wrong his delivery is 2nd to none! And was more than happy to help but just didnt want to own up to listing wrong so rather than send it back and debate over ebay for money back we decide to make it fit so if you have the facilites to do it then by all means go for it but if you dont then dont attempt it! For an extra £40 or £50 you could probs get a custom cat back made to how you want ;) will send you a sound clip soon mate taking ages to upload. Hope this helps and get a progress thread up ! Check back here every so often! Im building on a budget so i am pritty much making do with what i got and bargin hunting so i can save money towards a bigger engine next year so really just want to make the most of what ive got
 
Not a problem pal. That vid was with the bung out but to be honest with it in it made not much difference apart from looking shocking haha
Ok mate cool will keep an eye out for it! Looks exact same to be honest. Id imagine a back box should be pritty much universal to all hatches although im not 100% so dont quote me on it. I think it was more the mid section that was givin me the hassel no idea why but its on now
 
Ahhh good to hear then I just need the backbox lol. Well don't mean to threadcrap, keep this updated!
 
This one has a 1400cc engine right?

Cant afford the insurance on anything bigger sadly! Still... good base for me to work with for my 1st honda and lets me get to know about them also.

Update - tryed to laqure my rear number plate recess at work today but wasnt happening. Think the weather played a part.Done it in the house tonight so hopefully it will take and i can get it on!
 
looks a good wee project mate! all the best with it. I'm reshelling (almost) everything from my ej9 to ek9 next week. so if you're looking for any bits let me know :)

Thanks mate. My 1st civic so just want to get to know about them etc first before i buy a proper civ and do a real build hence the ebay special parts haha. Hopefully going on the road this weekend so updated pics up in a few days all going well!

Thanks pal. Cars all done for the minute and ready for the road till after winter. Will get pics tomorrow before i go away and upload monday. Was to dark to get pics at the garage lastnight!
 
Looks good, why don't you color code the side moulds, skirts and side mirrors too?

By the way what model of Civic did this kind of number plate recess come on? Is it a UK-spec or Euro-spec? Where do you screw the plate on? I've only ever seen ones with two grooves on the bottom that hold the bottom of the plate in place:

The front and rear bumpers will be going in for a fresh coat before summer as they have a few scrapes (nothing major just anoying) and also the front is getting smoothed for my square plate.
So if i have the money it will get fully colour coded pal and if not im not fussed. Im trying to spend minimal amount so i can get a vti next year or mabey go coupe im not sure yet though hah see when the time comes ;)

As for the rear number plate recess. I have no idea pal. If its any use the car is a W regi and is a 1.4 sport

Dont know much about the euro and jap specs pal haha all new to me
