So, still hunting for a car and this seems the perfect place to look, ask questions and obviously buy! I'm looking for a car that requires very little up keep, reliable and fun.. So has lead me honda.. I'm not gonna say I'm just looking at EK9's..but if I did buy one it would have to be untouched, is that a silly thing to ask? I want something that is show worthy...

I'm Nic, I'm a Signal Apprentice For a rather large company currently living between Portsmouth and Southend Essex..

What do you mean by untouched - 100% (or near) stock? Or mint? A really clean ek9s do pop up every now and again, but be prepared to wait and you'll also need to be prepared to pay more than the average ek9 price. If money is no object you might want to have a look into importing one from Japan!

Money is an object sadly! Near on, I don't mind if it's got body work issues rust is fine.. Something that I can put back to standard easily i.e. Not putting the stock engine back in, not stripped etc!

I'd rather have one with some engine mods than rust!

Save a bit more & bring one over from the motherland.

So would I if I was in a different situation, but I'm wanting to keep this car for as long as possible! I want to test drive before I buy it, just something I'm not keen on!

Rust is easily sorted, friend of mine owns a body shop so that's simple!

So really we are after a honda, as cheap as possible, with as little mods as possible?
Ep3 is what you want.

Didn't say as cheap as possible, I just don't want to spend mega money when I know you can often find a gem for the right price if you keep looking! Sadly one went locally on this forum, wrong time wrong place and all that sadly!

What's your price range then?
Decent one is going to cost 5k.

I was looking for the same sort of thing as you, I started looking for a clean EK9 for the right price this time last year and nothing came up that was to what I wanted so I looked to japan got myself a lovely one (so I think, its still on the boat! :S haha) took 3ish months out there to find a good one as well!

Good luck on your hunt for one!

Type-R-Dunk has one coming from Japan, worth the extra money to have a fresh import. You say rust is easily fixed by a bodyshop, if you have ever done any bodywork you will know that is not the case! Luckily Civics are easy with few places that you can't get to when welding to seal it all up.
