Speedo Calibration?

Just wondering if anyone in the London / South East knows of anywhere that deals with speedo calibration?

Only had my ek9 a month or so but found that the speedo is a little happy... reads about 5-10mph over at low speed and more like 10 - 15 at high speed. Not massively fussed about what the speedo shows although it does get a bit annoying when you're trying to gauge speed going through cameras 10mph slower than needed!

The real concern is that its going to be over clocking on the miles its actually doing.

Don't know much about this kinda stuff but obviously the car has a converter, I assume reading from the gearbox? to take it from kph to mph, is there an easy way to adjust the converter myself or is this something a professional should deal with? ...if so would anyone be able to point me in the right direction?

I've done a bit of googleing but most people I call seem to just deal with mileage correction or just tell you to get a new speedo :angry2:

Mine does the same due to the k20 swap and the gearbox being set for 17" wheels. K tuned do a speedo converter. Also looked at yellowbox another product for amending the speedo

Would be interested in the outcome of this. Noticed my 9 limits at 130 on the clock but know they are limited to 112. I know that newer cars just get plugged in to a computer and do it that way so maybe best contacting Honda themselves?

I'm running 15's same as standard so don't think its the wheel size affecting the reading... will have a look at the ktuned converter and see whats what :)

I will give Mr Honda a shout to see if they can recommend anything although I have a funny feeling they will just tell me I need a new speedo at great expense lol. Like you say on the more modern cars where its all electronic it would be quite simple but I think EK9 clocks are analog controlled so would imagine its something mechanical within the converter that needs adjusting?

See I'm running 195/50/15 tyre and the standard size is 195/55/15. So I wouldn't imagine a 5% difference (like 10mm) would change the speedo reading by about 18mph top end.... Who knows haha. Seems to be accurate lower down. Keep me updated bud

Cheers for the links @si8pny that yellow box looks a good bet :)
Yeah I want to order one but every month more important things come up haha Let me know if you get one and how you get on. I found them also being sold on ebay
