Will be going about servicing my spoon calipers and was wondering if I should replace all of the original bolts to stainless steel ones.

Anybody done that?
Was concern on any adverse effect it could have on the aluminum calipers.

My thoughs were why spoon did not use stainless bolts on their calipers? It should not be costing too much more for them to fit especially when they cost so much?

Did this on my old ones

No adverse affects, ran them like that for at least 15k miles

110mm cap head bolts is what you need

Thanks for the info Steven. Cos I understand that stainless steel bolts are softer then the galvanized steel bolts that spoon uses.
However having said that the torque value of the steel bolts on the caliper is about 30-32ftlb which makes me feel that the yield stress limit of the stainless steel bolt is barely reaching its limit and so should be fine if I go for the replacement.

More comments?

The bolts don't really serve much of a purpose more than retaining the pads, even then the setup of 2 x bolts with the shank bars is a bit overkill

My race brembos just use a double spring to retain the pads for instance and never had an issue, the spring is held in place with a tiny bolt too

Just fit stainless ones, make sure that the locknuts you use are metal spring type ones like the ones the calipers come with, i would never use nylocs on brakes for the fear of the nylon melting

Oh you were just referring to the pads retaining bolts but I was referring to all the other bolts on the caliper.

Just leave those ones as they are, only reason you would replace for stainless bolts would be for cosmetic reasons - the pad retaining bolts are the only bolts you can actually see with the wheel on.......

I not looking at cosmetic reasons to replace my bolts to stainless steel.

As the bolts are all hex head bolts, my biggest concern is rust and the rounding of the hex head and seizure of the threads.

As such on my thoughts for replacing ALL bolts big and small to stainless steel.
