Let me know how much you want for them.
I also have ek9 springs should you need them back.

They arrived, but the change is very big I will not use them since in the mean time I tried another setup on my car which I want to keep now. :))

What do you mean by the change is very big? I have some that i bought used but not fitted so this makes me wonder lol

Well as I now want to keep my recently changed setup, I'm sure the spoons will stay in the box for at least a long time, that is if I keep them.

Left is my new strutassembly, 7kg oem lowering spring on shortened OEM damper and right the oem type r, that I planned to use the spoons with:

So what is the benefit of the heavier spring rate? Less movement? or should i say more pressure would be needed for it to move

Also same question to the shortened strut?

Where did you get the shortened own damper and 7 kg springs? Are they custom made springs or cut down own?

@ismail: one benefit is that my car feels now so much more stable at high speeds, both straith line as in corners compared to the stock ek9 suspension of which the dampers are also a bit aged i guess, the new set is brandnew.....another benefit is that the shortened combi easily saves a kg weight per strut compared to the Spoon spring on stock type r damper. Another small benefit is that when the car sits on a bridge for some time the bushings wont get so much stretched out as with the longer stock suspension.

@b16 mini: they are OEM and made by MG, and they come like this, so I didn't cut anything...many 5dr 1.8VTi drivers also swear by these thats how I got familiar with them.

From 1:50 in the movie below you can see the car they are from allthough I have them from the ZS120 because that matches my cars weight. The springs of the ZS180 are an even higher springrate but will ofcourse not lower properly when I would use those on my Ek.

That's very interesting, do you have a picture of your ride height with them fitted?

Did you also use the rear springs?

I will not fit the rears, the springs can only be used icm with the shorter MG dampers and the MG rear dampers are not suited for the EK chassis because of the lower arms difference and I think it will put the rear higher too because of weightdifference. Also it's not needed as I have a beautiful balance now together with the EK9's in the rear, car feels as if it should come from the factory like this. I could ofcourse try the Spoon rear springs to see if that adds anything, allthough I would prefer used springs then to leave my new set as it is.

As for the fronts, It's basically the same as with my ek9 suspension in the front:

I can highly recommend you to at least try the spoon springs. They're really great imo.Keep in mind Oem springs are all lineair in front and progressive in the rear.Spoons are a progressive kind ( dual rate lineair) .That 6.3K of the front spoons is a progressive rating ,and becomes stiffer then that very quickly.I compared them to my Neuspeed race lowerings springs of 7.7kg and the spoons feel stiffer then those. You get both comfort and great stiffness with the progressive springs.

Thanks for your input Nick, I know exactly how they feel as I've had them before, thats why I didn't bother to pay this money for just the springs but I think the MG assembly is hard to beat. ;-)

I just wished i knew this before i bought my spoon springs and koni shocks.I think i'm going to order a set of those front Zs 120 springs and try them out :).
The price you pay for new MG shocks and springs is really hard to beat compared to spoon's and koni's .
