my friend has one for a DC2-R, I have looked on the spoon site and they are the same part number.

should I get it? since Blinx said a 68mm TB will be the better mod. :nice:

oh it is used with about 10k miles on it...but that is ok?

spoon is OK for sure. please do not buy the edelbrock. i also can recommand the skunk2 or maybe something different from the big jap. tuners.
edelbrock has sometimes stuck throttle-plate-thingy! its not a fatal problem but its quite uncool when your throttle goes down 3 seconds after you left the pedal ;)

I been looking at the specs for the throttle body, I know it is the same part for B18C and B16B.

and I am very confused.

the things I know is that Spoon throttle body is tappered, making it like a funnel.

with 70mm Inlet diameter.

So the B16B, is listed 62mm inlet diameter on the Spoon .pdf, on that same .pdf it says the B18C butterfly valve is 62mm. (so with my assumption, EK9 and DC2 had the same same butterfly valve and outlet diameter, but the EK9 had a straight throttle body at 62mm? where as stock DC2 had 67mm tappering to 62mm?)

Spoon TB specification: Butterfly Valve 65mm.

SO do the Spoon throttle body have a outlet diameter of 65mm? hence increasing my EK9 throttle body outlet from 62mm to 65mm?

well this is what i know:

ek9 tb is 60mm at the butterfly
dc2 tb is 62mm at the butterfly

however if you measure the inlet then
ek9 inlet is 62mm
dc2 inlet is 64mm

but tb are measured at the butterfly usually. also ive never heard of an edelbrock stick but i have heard of skunk2 sticking, i believe its s problem with all billet TB. anyhow, most people i know by the aebs one its just about the cheapest one on the market and nobody has compalined that it sticks.

also something to note: the spoon TB is just a taperbored itr unit.

check these threads for a lot more info.

thanks nice threads there.

finally So is it a Blinx approved mod?

edit* oh no just read about the 70mm being too big, with the part number 000 at the end.

right but are you definately sure it is 70mm all through? let me picture the .pdf from spoon about the 65mm butterfly valve.

edit* once again, it is part number that ends in 020.

this is the source i am looking at
