spring rates

After a couple of track days, I feel my suspension is a little soft. I'm running KW variant 1 on my car, and I'm looking to change the springs in this setup for springs with a higher spring rate. Only problem is, that most manufacturers don't list here spring rates. Does anyone know were to find these? I remember reading somewhere the springs in the KW setup were around 4kg, but don't remember if this was front or rear?

They should be 6.3kg/mm front , 2.6kg/mm rear.

Although changing the springs to linear rate isnt that easy.

The KW progressive spring is long and has a 61mm inner diameter.
So in order to change the springs to the more common 60mm inner diameter size , the spring preload collar needs 1mm machined/filed off the outer mount for the new spring to sit secure.

You will also need helper springs to keep the main springs secure at full droop , although Ive forgotten the sizes needed.

Google ''faulkner springs'' they can supply what you need.

The biggest obstacle is the actual damping with them. Ive been told you can increase the spring rate by 2kg/mm at each corner (variant 2 + 3 ) without compromising the damping. Any higher and they would need to be revalved to suit the stiffer spring.

As to getting the variant 1's revalved , I am not too sure its possible , best ringing KW first.

Hope that helps somewhat ..

i run kayaba buzz spec coilovers using 22kg spring rate front and 18kg spring rate swift springs on helper springs with valves to suit. amazing on track...bitch on bumpy roads :-(
