ive read up bout people stroking their b16b to 1800cc mostly with spoon stroker kit but ive read and heard your able to do it with either ls/gsr/itr crank and rods im wondering if anyone has done this because i got a couple ques such as

1)could i remain with the b16b piston while still remaining reliable?
2)is there anything else (any usual obstacle) that i would have to do to get the any crank in there if so what?
3)is there like a best combo from the three? or are the all the same?
4)what would be the c/r if i do go with this plan?

i do got more but dont just want to make a long boring list, this process intrigues me and i would like to know more about.....also what i mean by reliable is that i use my car as a daily to get me from school and work everyday

1) Yes but the b16b pistons are actually heavier and a bit prone to hot spots due to the massive dome, i would much rather use the ITR pistons that come with the spoon kit, along with a thin head gasket your compression will be 11.5:1 which is perfect for a street car in my opinion.

2) No, its a straight swap, you just need the rods that match the crank, main bearings, rod bearings and thrust washer. And obviously precision measuring tools to make sure you have proper clearance, if this part confuses you have a professional do it!!

3) Best is really an opinion, No they are not all the same, LS crank is 89mm stroke while the GSR and ITR are 87.2mm (the itr differs from the gsr only by being further balanced). With that said you will have 1797cc with GSR/ITR crank and stock bore and 1834cc with an LS crank and stock bore. With proper balanceing blueprint and assembly the LS crank is the better option due to the increased stroke. If not balancing will be done then the ITR/GSR crank is the better option.

4) All compression numbers below are based on 81mm bore, using the rods that match the crank (ls rods with ls crank and GSR/ITR rods with GSR/ITR crank), b16a/b head, and stock head gasket:

-ITR/GSR crank and GSR/ITR rods with CTR pistons: 12.74
-ITR/GSR crank and GSR/ITR rods with JDM P73-00 ITR pistons: 11.32
-ITR/GSR crank and GSR/ITR rods with JDM P30 B16a pistons: 11.27

-LS crank and LS rods with CTR pistons: 13.0
-LS crank and LS rods with with JDM P73-00 ITR pistons: 11.53
-LS crank and LS rods with JDM P30 B16a pistons: 11.48

Ask as many questions as you like as long as they are related, if they are unrelated just start a new topic, like don't ask whats the best intake then ask about stroking in the same thread lol, it will make it hard for people to help you.

wow great info got what i needed to know!!!!!!!! butttttt.....................................well could i use a gsr piston p72 i believe? (along with gsr crank and rod of course) is it the same as itr piston? cause thats alot easier to come by than these jdm pistons also i heard while the itr crank is more balance with the counterweights and all the gsr is 10lbs lighter is this tru?

Type R cranks are indeed heavier.
Yes you can use P72 pistons but hey are not the same and your compression will be 9.8 which is not really ideal for NA, why don't you just get the spoon stroker kit? Its very cheap and comes with the ITR crank rods and JDM ITR pistons :nice:

well i believe i could get a gsr crank with rods which is pretty much the as same as itr pretty cheap well at least cheaper than the spoon kit, and i just gotta find some P73 piston
and off to the shop shell go

ive emailed a few suppliers and been informed this kit is no longer available is this true?

It's been discontinued for a long time, but a few people still have it available, inlinefour.com has them i believe...

I wonder if it's an IP issue. Does the above link work for anybody else?

can anybody see this image?

I stroked up my B16b with an ITR stroker (conrods & crankshaft) but im still using ny B16b piston for higher compression. I used the ITR kit coz its more lighter than the GSR.

The connecting rods. I thought the JDM ITR is more lighter than the one from the GSR. Correct me if im wrong. :)

i think they are the same weight, i do know that the ITR crank is actually heavier than the GSR crank though, and likewise the b16b crank is heavier than the b16a crank...

Ok. Thanks for the info sir. A friend of mine told me that so i went for the ITR stroker. Still im happy for the results. :)

-blinx what is being balance with the crank? since it came from the factory all crankshaft have been balance already.
