Hi all, I’m a bit embarrassed posting this, but I’m in the process of installing a baffled sump to my EK9 and I have everything off apart from the lambda sender wiring connection.

As usual with connectors, there are different ways of squeezing and levering small locking plastics to allow the connection to be removed. But for the life of me I can’t work out how to unlock it. I don’t want to damage the wires and these is a sharp bracket close by that keeps raking my hands.

I suppose it’s been in place for 22 years too so probably very comfortable staying where it is.

Any pointers appreciated.

Also would there be any benefit in replacing the lambda sensor whist it’s very accessible when the exhaust down pipe is on the bench?

Been a while since I removed mine, but pretty sure you just push the push tab on the one side and then slide out.

Believe the other side has a slot on it for mounting.

As for replacing, I would personally replace for the sake of £70ish just to know its sound if you think its been there for 22 years

Thanks, it’s probably just seized in place. Annoying when everything else is off and it’s just a plastic connector that’s stopping the job.
Think you are right re the Lambda, I’ll replace it

Unclip it from the metal bracket and get something like a flat head screwdriver or a chisel and pry them apart in the middle while pressing the tab. Its not easy but can be done

Clean it and put some grease on it when putting it back

Thanks for the answer, unclipping it from the mount makes a lot of sense, cheers
