Teeky's MB6 VTI-S Build Thread *** PIC HEAVY ***

Got a good surprise when I took my bumpers off!!

Literally NO rust what so ever, just a little bit of dirt, the front had ever so slightest surface rust, behind where the bumper bar sits.

Planning on cleaning all the hidden areas and buzzing that small area of surface rust off, and protecting it, maybe with wax oil or underseal, still looking in to the best method of protection for them areas.

Absolutely BUZZING!

Finally got the exhaust I've been after for ages!

5zigen Border 304

It came of my mates DC2, the backbox is absolutely MINT!

No dings or scrapes etc

If you know about these exhausts, you'll know exactly how hard they are to come by!

They sound EPIC! the VTEC crossover is soo loud, strong and aggressive, I cannot wait to get this on.

The plan is to get a 2.5" custom system made to suit the Border 304.

It'll go perfect with my 5zigen Manifold
PERFECT COMBO!

DARE I SAY, THIS WILL BE THE FIRST MB6 IN THE WORLD TO ROCK A 5ZIGEN MANIFOLD ALONG WITH A 5ZIGEN BORDER 304 :naughtyx:

The chances are very slim that anyone else will have this same combo as they are so God damn rare! And that too on a MB6, simply because 5Zigen never made a "OFF THE SHELF" system for the MB6, tbh only a few UK company's made a off the shelf system for the MB, Such as Mongoose, Toyo sport and Scorpion if I'm not mistaken.

Can't explain how eager I am to make some noise with this exhaust!!!

Finally another thing off the bucket list!

4x100 282-262 swap!

The wheel options for 4x114.3 are very small, 96 SPEC DC2 wheels are gorgeous, I'd love to get a set, IMO they look better then the 98 wheels on a MB6, but again that's the first thing people do when they change the wheels on a MB6.

Rather keep my options open with the 4x100 as alot more wheels are readily available.

Probably strip these down and rebuild them, along with getting a few other suspension components.

I've already got a nice set of very Rare Rays wheels sat around looking pretty, may get them on, or might just get a set of Grids or Slips for the time being.

Considering getting a Big brake set up, looking at ATR Twin pots with the 300mm disc, or maybe the Willwood 4 pots, need to look in to it more too see what the best bang for buck.

Came across this brand new Climair sunroof deflector

Never been used, had the rubber seal and all the fixtures and fittings too

Ideally id want a OEM deflector, but for what I paid for them, I can't really complain lol

Couple of more bits came from Tegiwa..

K-Tuned - BANJO to AN6 fitting

FB_IMG_1554458772830.jpg

FB_IMG_1554458775501.jpg

1 metre of AN6 Stainless steel braided fuel hose

FB_IMG_1554458780563.jpg

And a freebie Air freshener lol

Right so after looking in to the best rust treatment/proofing

Finally came to the conclusion of using the legendary "OG" WAXOYL

I spoke to Andy Sharpe, he is a very well known fabricator, who is well known in the 4G & CRX community, he recommend it would be the best thing for what I'm using it for, and he is the man

Got 10L of Black Waxoyl, the reason I got black is because the "Clear" isn't very clear, it's like a Green/cream, weird colour lol

My Jordan had been waxoiled by one of the previous owners, and it was very good after about 8 years it was still a little tacky to the touch.

Black will look nice and subtle and kinda "OEM" on the MB6 as it's a black car.

Bought the genuine Waxoyl high pressure sprayer, as I don't have a compressor at the moment, rather get this than the shitty eBay ones.

Has 2 pipes, one extended rubber pipe, and the white own is a "HARD" pipe, can use it to angle it in to sills and bend it etc

The plan is to, cover behind the bumpers, behind the wing, behind skirts, and inside of the doors along with the chassis rails and any little cavity I can find

Probably need more, I'll do it over a couple of weekends

My AN6 fittings arrived today, they seem pretty good quality.

Didn't realise the bottom spins 360° lol

Got some caliper paint :p

The 4x114.3 hubs won't be on for long, but I thought I'd give them a little colour.

Just need a few red scotch pads, and a couple of grades of sand paper

Prefer the brush on paint, cleaner job as in it'll only go where you want it too, very little masking, and it holds up really really well! If anything stronger then a aerosol finish.

Alot of people told me it's **** ,it's not heat resistant and to get VHT.

I know loads of people who've used this paint on there calipers and after thousands of miles they are still fine even know of someone who's done a few trackdays, and the paint is hoping we'll

Where did you get the new VTIS badge from mate? that is definitely pic heavy build thread haha :nice:
Oh and how did you remove the baffle on the rocker cover? I know dirt gets behind there, and can cause engine failure so i'm deliberately not running a spare cover I have as I'm certain there's a crap in it

Got the badge from eBay mate, about £12 or something

And yepp the more pics the better lol

Drilled out the welds, and slowly popped it off, it has some sort of sealer holding it on too.

Will tap some holes and use some small domed bolts to secure the baffle back in, along with locktite, alot of the evo owners to the same too.

Couple of bits from H-Tune arrived, they came surprisingly early :lol:

AEM - High flow fuel rail
K-Tuned 90° bend for my fuel pressure gauge

These are the last couple of bits I need to get my car up and running again, still need to order a few other bits, but no rush for them.

The AEM fuel rail can also take Race fuel and Nitrous :secret:

;)

Nice job on the 304 dude, I've got one waiting to go on my ek9, if you're looking for a unique noise - don't worry you've found it! They are very loud though, I need to make a bung for mine or I don't think I'll be very popular at trackdays :p

One other word of advice and only since you are using some very good parts for what looks like its going to be a very nice build... ditch the whales ***** intake and get a cold air box, (mugen or tegi rep are the best about) n/a engines are very sensitive to intake temp and when you mount the filter in the bay its getting ALOT of heatsoak.

I was told by Romain when he mapped mine that if you can get the intake temps down by 2 or 3 degrees you notice a big difference in the power and CAI is the best way to go about it... unless you want to run meth lol

Thanks man, can't wait to get the 304 on lol
