Hi im thinking of buying a sir civic it has been on a rolling road but results seem low to me just wondering what you think!

Spec:
B16a2
ek9 cams
Dc2 throttle body and inlet manifold
4-1manifold
Decat
Cat back exhaust
Js racing induction kit

It made 166bhp/137whp mapped by apexi neo

Dont have a graph sorry! Just checking are these normal figures before i splash the cash

is that the same engine thats in a ek4 vti because 1 of me mates had it dyno runned n the only upgrade was a aem v2 intake and he produced 169 bhp!!!! does seem abit low that mate :))

I ran a b16a2 mate, sk2 inlet, dc2 TB, mugen box, good 2.5" exhaust from nose to tail and I made 189.6 bhp with a hondata s300

Ya mate same engine! it seems low alright its on 95octane and neo wouldnt be as good as hondata but still seems low! I cant put my finger on it at all:/
Anyone know what could be causing the poor numbers? It was done by a top tuner so no worrys In tuner capabilities

honestly not a fan of the neo, have you tried running on a std ecu ans seeing what the differences actually are?
poor power figures could be a number of things..compression ok?

Fugures do seem quite low, but as said could be a number of things mate. Induction kit isnt the best as its not a cold air intake and exhaust could be restricting depending on size of piping and collector on the manifold.

b16a2 are only 160bhp

only one way to find out and thats drive it

if its not quick enough gives it a few night of complete abuse

should sharpen it up

Dyno results should be taken with a pinch of salt, When i had near the exact same setup in my CRX, it only made 160 odd hp aswell.
On the road it was amazing,no ek9/ep3 could get near it. Obviously better management and fuel will bring the numbers up.

See if you can testdrive the car see how it feels.

You can't compare dyno readings form different dynos, holty's mate could have put his car on the same dyno as used on the car you're looking at and come out with 160 bhp. Comparing different dyno reading from different dynos on different days isn't going to give you any comparable information.

Like Lee and Murray said, don't put your faith in a bit of paper, drive it and see what you think.

As said cant take dyno results too serious

Most over read by quite a bit, it's on the road that matters.

Like its been said above take dyne results with a pinch of salt, my brother once had a civic coupe with a b18c and had it dyno'd at 155bhp, yet the car would run a 14 second quarter mile and would run the speedo of the clock. so dyno's can be well off and definitely not a true representation of how quick or how much fun a car is to drive.

My guessin is that it needs a priper map on a good chip ir standalone ecu as the neo only adjusts air and fuel as far as i know!? With the ek9 cams on a sir ecu wouldnt be running perfect! It needs a map with a rev limit increase for ek9 cams and to adjust timing etc and also itr tb and intake manifold! My guess is dat it needs a proper map not just air fuel mapping on a neo? Any opinions?

your prob right mate,my jordan made 172bhp on a realistic dyno with just a few bolt ons no cams etc changed

sounds a little low alright , but dont get hung up on the figures , does it go like stink ? and run ok ?
