Thinking of getting a Civic ej9

Also insurance. Even a EJ9 will be pricey.
Awesome little cars thought.
I had one for 2 years and still to this day, after many performance cars that was the car I love the most. Still keep in contact with the guy who currently owns it to make sure he's not done anything stupid to it!

Yea cheapest insurance I found was £2500 but I don't really want a corsa or clio and insurance on a 1.4 polo was near enough the same.
haha thats good though at least you know it been taken care of

Wuft for £2500 for insurance alone Id be sticking with public transport.

I'm 17, bought 3 Eks so far before I found a decent one, the first 2 were total rot boxes, when you buy one make sure you look underneath it and get a proper look, take a torch, pook about underneath, trust me nothing worse than buying "clean civics" then going to MOT it & it's absolutely rotten, it's not the outside id be worrying about, rusty arches and dents all easy to fix... It's underneath you want to check

Yeah lots of people forget to check under the car. How much was your insurance if you dont mind me asking??

insurance is extortionate. do you live in a bad area?
I pay a lot less than that on an ek9 fully insured with mods with no year no claims and a dangerous driving ban!
for that price I'd be buying something dead cheap to insure and building no claims up eek!

I don't have any NCB. No record or anything. I live in a place called Gilberdyke out in the sticks. Lovely area lol. I was actually quoted £2200 at one point by one of the forum insurers :/

ouch. I'm with brentacre, couldn't be any happier with them  they even seem to know who I am when I ring lol - adrian flux almost trippled my current price for the ek9

only solution i can see is not to drive until your 25, that is a complete farce. The car is only going to be worth a grand or so. Fook I hate insurance companies.

No I live in a new housing development and my area is quite nice my mum and dad both have 14 plate vauxhalls and there insurance is really cheap. Although it cause im 17 and ill be going straight on to a 1.4 so that why it will be so high :(

My EJ9 costs me £1400 on insurance

I'm almost 22.

Jesus. I was paying less than this on an S2000 at 21 years old in 2011.

Just got my insurance from Sky for the 9er, 24 years old, all mods declared including rollcage for under £700.

I would be delaying driving for sure if my insurance had been so much.

a dangerous driving ban!

Excellent effort haha

That's still quite a bit how many years no claims do you have? The lowest I could get was £2380 with a box.

I defo wouldnt be taking out insurance with the speeding box. No danger.

Only reason I'm in the car is for going to work. 25 minute drive opposed to 1+ hours on the train.

Oh really I might go on my dads insurance if it works out cheaper
