Hi,

Me and some friends have been driving in the dutch Time Attack series for some years now. This year we would like to drive a few races in the UK as well. However, some things are unclear to me and i hope some of you guys out there can help me out with some questions:

First of all; What are the differences in the classes. Like N/A Club, N/A Fwd, etc.

Also i can't find information on the website if it is necessary to have a MSA licence for all classes?

Third i would like to get the technical regulations for the car etc.

I have been using to google to find info regarding the UK Time Attack. Found the website timeattack.co.uk but on there i can not find the information i am looking for. I might just be looking in the wrong place.

Thanks in advance for all your help!
Much appreciated! :)

Club is anything from lightly to heavily tuned. Many are road cars. Only need a battery cutoff, four point harness and hand held afff fire extinguisher. No cage, and a non race national license. (No test)

Club pro needs a cage....pro needs a hardcore cage.

You need all the 8856 (?) fireproof gear for all classes.

I think club cars are higher spec on averave than in dutch ta from what ive heard.

I pitted for neil clark, and know mike cantelo, darron wall, jimmy white to name a few.

No sequential box or nos in club. Original dash needed. Msa list 1b tyres.

Thanks for your help sofar!
The two documents Murray linked are a good help.
However some of the regulations refer to a MSA document i can not find...

My car is suitable for the Pro, except the plumbed in fire extinguisher and MSA race licence. For the Club i am overqualified on most of the items, but that is more safety for me! :) haha!

I think we will start in the Club and see what the competition is like. But in the club you have different categories as well, like the FWD, RWD, 4WD, N/A. What if you are FWD and N/A. In which subcategorie should you subscribe? It is a bit more complicated then the dutch Time Attack. Where you have 4 classes based on laptimes on the tracks. From Semi-Pro to Extreme, with Pro and Super-pro in between. It does not matter if you have F/I or are N/A or FWD or RWD.

Also how can you get the non race national licence?

Thanks again for your help! Much appreciated!

n/a is below the fwd class, ie fwd is a higher standard as they will mostly be hundreds of hp.

Thanks again Murray and John!!
I am just a bit confused as how to it is stated that the cars in Club are of a high standard, but require no rollcage or anything like that... A bit strange in my oppinion! haha!

One more question; any of you happen to know how to get the MSA non race license as a foreigner?

Nylez, that I'm unsure of. I found this from the MSA,

ADDRESS AND NATIONALITY 5.The MSA shall be entitled to register and issue licences to: • A British citizen, including a citizen of any part of the territory of the MSA. • A citizen of any other country represented on the FIA providing they can provide proof to their parent ASN that they are permanently resident within the UK and that their ASN has given its prior permission and has recovered any licence originally issued.ASN authorisation is required for each licensing year

It might be worth an email to Time attack to see about using your Dutch lisence?

Murray

Quite interesting about the club class. Didn't realise you don't need full safety gear, cage, etc to compete.

Wonder how much the rounds are?
