Thinking of buying a set of one of the above. Both come in at the same price around £80 each. Will be for couple of trackdays but maily daily driving. Anyone with opinions on these in dry/wet conditions. What about length of life?
Cheers

Too be honest i think that the best street tire money can buy right now are the Hankook RS3s or the newly released Dunlop Star Spec Z2s. All my friends use the current RS3s on their daily driven track cars. I'm sure they'll be a little cheaper than the Advan AD08s.

i love the toyos on my ek4 with ek9 shocks and springs.
And i whas surprised in the rain also !!

I am deciding between these two now as well. I am very keen on the Toyos but they won't last as long as they are quite soft.

I have had the toyo R1R's on y car for about 4k miles now and they still look like new. That's with 307bhp going through them for the past 3k miles. The grip is great as well. I will prob buy another set when I need them.

RS3's are unfortunately not available in out due to not having an "E" mark, We got RS2's though, still have them and think there great.

I would be inclined to go with the AD08 if it were me personally.

Ive used 195 50 15 R1r on my b20 for ages now,

Taking my nearly new r1r's off for 19 55 15 AD08 next weekend for a change.

£80 each for T1R ? Get on demon tweeks, 195 50 15 are £40 a corner :nice:

After 3k miles which included a trip to the nurburgring my front ado8s where on 4.5mm and my rear 6.

If you swap them around you will get around 6k of hard use on the fronts i reckon at least

Be aware they are terrible in the cold and nearly useless in the snow. :secret:

i find r1rs quite soft but excellent grip even in the rain, however this is aided by a decent camber setup..for winter use i have t1rs on my scabby ek9 wheels as i dont see the point in expensive tyres just for road use but if you got the money then doesnt matter...

if its for road use and its only out the odd time id go r888 had them on my track car and had decent grip, for track full slicks are the ticket but the r888 done the job ill run them on my road car

Was looking into the r888 but cost about£40 more per tyre. Leaning more towards ad08 at the moment. Seem like a lot of tyre for the money. It will only get minimal use in the wet as i have another daily. Anyone know how much tread is on the ad08 from new. Im sure r888 only have 5mm odd from new?

I've not driven on R1Rs but after seeing how quickly they wear, I'm not sure I would bother. Yes, they'll offer a little more grip but they'll also be toast after 2 trackdays. My AD08s still looked brand new after a trackday at Brands Indy.
