@EkBen We managed to arrange a small get together for a couple ek9org members in November. Hoping to get another 1 going sometime this year maybe March/April if people are interested. I got an ek9org group chat going too since there's not many active folk these days here. Keep the meets low key and invite only though so less nob heads lol whereabouts are you located mate?

I think a lot of you guys are quite far from what I can tell but if I can make it I will mate :)

Not really an update, just another set of wheels I thought people might wanna see on an EK :))

Work Ewing RSZ Negative, 16x7 +42 which are in my opinion perfect 16” specs with stock arches and a little roll for meaty tyres.

40935

Not sure whether to keep yet as I prefer 15’s and these aren’t my favourite style but they do suit it. Rare wheels none the less too

After buying a Trilogy hazard switch over a year ago finally got round to figuring out the wiring for it..
Couple of diodes needed to be added onto the LH & RH indicator wires to stop some current back feed, now seems to be working as it should.
41081

Diodes still need to be soldered in-line, heat shrunk and then some braided sleeving put over everything to keep it neat.
Might show what wires go where for future reference.

Been quite busy the last few months...
Went to town on the suspension back in April/May time, all new bushes and arms alround (Hardrace).
Inverted tie rod kit, also hardrace and powder coated ARB’s, brackets, zinc coated bolts etc.
Installed a Hardrace rear subframe brace too since I’ve upgraded to an EK9 rear ARB.

While the car was out of action I also de powered the steering rack properly! Although it seems to pull quite hard over bumps now so may need to adjust the nut that puts tension on the slider perhaps?
Went and acquired a set of SSR Type X’s as well in 15x6.5 +42 & +45 (slightly staggered offsets) with some lovely Direzza 03G’s on and yes they’re outstanding tyres.

Purchased and installed a Bride Zeta 3 BN Sports edition from JDMDistro, using Bride Type FG seat rails as well and a black Sabelt 4 Point harness.

May have been a load of little odd bits here and there but I’ll upload some images :)

Today’s job... Headlight restoration :naughty:

Headlights aren’t perfect (EK9’d by last owner and very poorly re sealed) BUT looking crystal clear again until I can afford proper 9 lights lol.

I’ll let the before and after pictures do the talking...

The bump steer has nothing to do with your de powering the rack. It's from your inverted racing outer tie rods. I know this is sad news because it was to me too but the racing performance shop that I took my car to for a serious alignment told me these inverted tie rods have the worst bump steer you will ever see in your life. I didn't believe him until I mentioned it on the web, and everyone was agreeing with me. The shop told me to change it back to OEM and it was so much better he said. Bump steer is something you absolutely do not want when you race on a track.

Ahh I was afraid of that, I wasn’t sure what could’ve caused the bump steer since I replaced every component up front and had the rack apart but thanks for confirming what the issue is! Bump steer correction kit that causes more bumpsteer, great lol

Just to clarify, it was definitely the Hardrace inverted track rods causing the bumpsteer/toe change. Reverted to new OEM outer tie rods for now and feels much better.
Apparently the hardrace tie rods should be used in conjunction with an extended ball joint ? Sounds stupid to me

Sounds about right to be honest. If you want/need a better understanding of geometry and how different components affect the car take a look at Honed Developments website and instagram page. They do some awesome explanations of their own products and geometry setups in general, all in layman's terms, and how changing different suspension parts can have an adverse or positive effect on how the car handles.

Helped me massively to further understand the basics behind it all and debunk quite a few theories that I had read online over the years that turned out to be completely wrong.
