Awesome write up buddy!
I've got a tiny bit of surface rust coming through on one of my arches, need to have a look hoping it isn't too bad
best check it sooner than later, im now doing the chassis where it gets most water and salt hitting it, wont need to do it again for god knows how long! This stuff is used to protect oil rigs out at sea apparently
Awesome write up....possibly tidy it up and make a sticky i say
I will be doing some of this but i will be looking to sand that stuff down lightly then paint it y-56 again so it looks more original, but thats because i have OCD
What size of kit did you go for for the epoxy mastic?
Starter Pack (5m 2)?
Chassis Pack (10m 2)?
Or was it individual's?
Think the starter pack would be ok as its 5m 2..... and its the cheapest
still want to put some rust protection in the inside incase it does come through in the future!
totally agree with both of you, making new panels and fabricating them will be seriously time consuming not to mention the cost. I paid about £50 for this epoxy kit and like said it should keep it safe for another 20 years.
The PHOS KLEEN B is some amazing stuff, the picture i added where its really shiny looks abit of a mess and never took a picture after the second coat but you can tell its just what you need for turning surface rust back to 'clean metal'.
If the arches were alot worse i would of had no choice to have it repaired professionaly but for the people in my situation where it isnt too bad you can rest easy knowing its going to help no end, especially with waxoyl over the top of the epoxy.
