I'm looking for full turbo conversion kits for my b18 c4 engine can anyone point me in right direction ?

Cheers damo

Full race, sheepey , go-autoworks to name a few companies that sell the full kit for the b series engine!

Robthedoc any chance you can send me a link to the place pal

Well I've just looked at some of the kits my god I didn't realise there were soooo bloody expensive, would it be a better option to buy the parts separately, what's best turbo with internal waste gate or external?

I'll have a cast manifold, t3/t04 turbo and probably a downpipe for sale soon.
Tbh your probably best getting a whole kit.

Yeah but the prices are from America with like £300-500 delivery not to mention the actual cost of the kits is there now suppliers in the uk?

There are uk suppliers and people have used them with good results. As with most things you get what you pay for. The cost of the pro kit I have when you break it down is amazing.

Turbo on its own 1400, wastegate 400 ish I think, bov best part of 300, oil and water lines and fittings couple hundred, down pipe with dump tube at least 150 to have made, massive hand made intercooler 200 or so, couplers and claps 50. Then you're getting a hand made life time gauranteed stainless manifold and alloy ic pipes. When you work out the cost of the buy in parts and materials they are near enough doing the fabrication work for minimum wage. Add to that the exchange rate is a good bit in our favour. It's not a bad deal.

All that said mate, you can't just buy a turbo kit and bolt it on then expect it to work. There's a lot more to it than that. If you build the engine expect to be about 150 quid in oil and oil filters alone before it gets to the dyno.

As above. Not sure how much you was expecting to spend?
You might be able to gypsy fab up some parts of your handy with a welder?
Other than that it's 2nd hand parts like my bits, although I'll want a minimum £500 for what I've got and it's nowhere near complete kit.

I've got £1000 to spend on the kit so I will have a look around

you'll need more than that, but if your getting second hand parts you should be able to get most bits. need to factor in injectors, ecu, fuel pump, ancillaries and mapping too.

My advice mate for what it's worth is wait until you have absolutely everything you need. So you can lay out all the parts and see that it's all there. At that point get the money you need to firstly put it together so things like oil/filter/plugs/coolant and money for tuning. Once you have all that in place the start work on the car.

That's where I went wrong the first time. I had a running usable car and it was off the road for 6 months waiting for parts.

what kits are you guys running and why? been looking at the street x kit on h tunes website but they give options to change a lot of parts which confuses me even more on what to get

il also be using a b18c4 and aiming for no more than 300bhp, any recommendations on what kit/turbo to go for?

Jesse's old kit would be ideal for less than 300hp? Cant remember which it is - possibly the street one.

I was aiming for 280 but ended up with 390 :run: I've got the go autoworks S-race kit with a GTX2867r

nice, i wouldnt complain with more but i know id be happy with 300 for a while

that gtx2867r is the ball bearing turbo isnt it? after reading up on the different turbos it sounds like id be after a ball bearing rather than journal bearing

whats the best ball bearing turbos to get if wanting around 300 ?

Mine was the street kit with the optional extra turbonetics t3/t04e turbo.
It's certainly basic but it's cheap and another member runs 380 on the same kit. (I ran 350)

If you've got the cash then ball bearing is the better option. It's just better technology. You can apply this theory throughout the car though can't you.
I like to think of journal bearing as "period correct"

I'm only clued up(alittle bit) on the Garrett turbos.
A gt2860rs will easily make over 300hp with even the smaller exhaust housing, will come on boost nice and early aswell.

I've got a manifold/turbo and downpipe for sale, ideally I'd have the turbo rebuilt before fitting but it will run fine as it is.

I've seen a kit off eBay but the don't sell the manifold to fit the t3 turbo or sell the oil feed n return lines for £560 I can buy the manifold n lines separate, BUT I've seen a kit for the states it consists of everything I need, I can expect delivery within 7days , now they said I may have to pay import tax, now can anyone tell me if you have bought a turbo kit from the states did u pay the import tax?

I've payed import tax on everything I've bought from the states, except an exhaust housing for my new turbo.
