Type R cluster with faded red accents

Honda civic ek2
So I bought a ek9 cluster and the red parts of the cluster are pretty faded. is there any way to restore the colour. and does it affect the dash lightup?

Paint. No, they're not illuminated.

The revcounter has the redline its illuminated from the back. the paint won't block the light?
Do you recommend any type of paint?
Btw sorry if I'm asking to much question let me know its my first time on a forum.

I know the clock faces are. The needles aren't. Won't hurt painting them. Get paint thats used for model kits, since its safe on plastic.
