Alright lads,

I added my build thread today so as some of yous may have seen/read I have a refurbed cam cover to go on the car.

Anyway thought I would have a go at it tonight and whilst undoing one of the nuts the bolt sheared! :angry2: I think it must have been over tightened previously or maybe it's just due to age?

Here is a pic of how it looks now:

Can anyone here help and tell me the part number for a replacement bolt? And where I could get a hold of one pretty quickly as don't really want to be waiting for long (I am impatient I know lol)

I decided not to finish fitting the rocker as I may need to use my car tomorrow but was wondering if this would cause any problems? I am bit worried that oil may piss out everywhere as this one washer is now not secured down by a nut. It feels pretty secure but just not sure! What do you guys think?

I know this should prob be in the engine section but thought I would get a quicker response here so if a mod feels it should be moved then I understand why :blabla:

Cheers

Oil could potentially come up through there now as the washer wont be secured by the nut!

Take the washer of and use a small washer and a nut on the remaining thread for the time being? Better than nothing.

Gary, you can have one of the bolts off my rocker cover until you get a replacement.

Crx is off the road ATM anyway. Will be around tomorrow all day.

Cheers lads.

It's the one which goes through the spark plug cover so yeah think it's the taller cam cap bolts but not 100% sure!

There's really not much thread left even with the washer off and don't have any smaller washers lying about as that was my first thought :angry2:

Ross cheers for the offer mate but I think I will just hold off driving the car rather than you having to take your rocker cover off etc but that's much appreciated mate, your a gentle man!

Ye check the site i linked. Thats the correct part number, they can send out same day if you call them on.monday.

Thanks mate that's much appreciated, I'll give them a call on monday, do you know the part numbers for the corner bolts of the cam cover? (i think they are shorter?) I might just order new ones of all of them to be safe! Lol

Yo I've got spare ones if you want one mate ? Can post it out tomorrow unless you're near Dumfries today.

I done this with my a few month back mate. Input a bit of silicon under the washer :) ordered the bolt from.honda had it the next day and no oil came through, dont worry too much.

Easy fix :nice:

Very easy to break these, hardly any torque and they can snap

I bought 2 from Honda when I broke one just to have a spare

If u register on the site you can look at the parts diagrams

Thanks mate, will register now!
