Went out today to clean the wheels, lad I got them off must hav no drive boots on his car as 2 of the wheels were destroyed in Grease! Took an hour an a half to clean em up,
2 bottles of brake cleaner,1 bottle of auto finesse tar remover,1 bottle of auto glym engine degreaser and Half bottle of ironX later they were clean,
Now havta c can I sort out some spacers and longer wheel studs
So the engine work started yesterday, time for B18!!:vtec:
Dropped out the engine an started stripping it down!
Then we started stripping down the donor B18 bottom end
All the b16/b18 parts before reassembly
The stripped down b16b bottom end,
Bottom end built ready for some head!
Head on and getting cams,
Engine built and loom back on ready to drop in
Engine back sitting in its mounts
So that's as the car sits now, engine is sitting in mounts will b at it again tomorrow and get it back on the ground again,
Got the wheel spacers and extended wheel studs off MCG on Friday so I trial fitted the wheels to make sure they fitted, they did! :hi:
Just need to get some decent tires sorted for them an they'll be on the car,
So the car was up with Aongus Vtec6000 for mapping, always an eventful day when I bring a car for mapping but yesterday took the piss! Fist off the petrol I got before we started mapping was useless! :farao: smelled like paint stripper! So that had to b drained out of the tank and good petrol had to b got, after we had that sorted he tried to start mapping again an one of the injectors wasn't goin wright, so they had to b changed, after that we got a few runs in before a coolant leak started! :fplam: we sorted that an got bak to it, after all the hardship it was worth it, the car made 215.3 flywheel Hp, and 150.4 torque,:hi: not bad for a standard engine! was very surprised at the figures wasn't expectin what it got, as aongus said, "it may b makin power but she's being a c*nt gettin there!" :lol!: car feels very well out on the road , and it's a lot better on petrol too, used a full tank gettin to Galway and just over a half tank on the way bak! I would recommend Aongus to anyone who is looking to get there car mapped! Took hours longer to map it yesterday than expected but he wouldn't stop til the job was done,
