Hello mates!!!I am really excited to be a member in your community as I read your forum for a while and I always wanted to be an EK9 member! :nice: I'm from Greece!I'm happy that there are here also a few members from Greece.Unfortunately I don't own an Ek9,since It was never imported here....:( You see our cars has in the left side the steering wheel.Anyway, lately strange ideas has come to my mind and I am thinking of a nice Ek9 swap in my "poor" ej9.(yes it's only 1400cc :() So what's better place to inform than here???Nowhere! So I'm starting reading, getting informed and making future plans....

Nice to meet you everyone!!!!:D

hello and welcome, be sure to check out the ej6 to ek9 conversion guide :nice:

hello & welcome m8. . .

remember finding a B16B will be hard & difficult, so you can upgrade ur 1.4 to an B18 (ITR) or a B16A. . .

hi Tony. im from switzerland, we have left-hand-steering cars here usually too and ek9 was never imported here but i bought one directly in tokio and got it here. it's really cool to drive a RHD car (and a fast one, tooo :D) on streets where all others drive Left-hand-driven cars. people dont recognise the car is something special because it looks like all those wannabe-jdm-civics over here but when they recognise you sit on the "wrong" side in the car they see that this must be a special car... it's so much fun to own the one and only ek9 in switzerland and only one of a few in europe (ok, UK is excepted... :D)

I have also thought to import one for myself instead of making the swap.Swapping an ek9 to my ej9 will never be the same. It's very difficult to distribute wights as factory does and so to achieve ek9's cornernig ability. But I find it difficult to drive it here.Don't you have difficulties in driving? For example when you make an overtake.... Do you ask your co-driver to see what's coming on your opposite traffic lane???

@vtecroadhog: I think that ek9 is a unique car and cannot be compared to b18c swap if you achive the driving and cornering skills of Ek9.Here in my country a complete B16A2 swap costs almost 3200-3500GBP!!! So I think that an Ek9 swap is worth it.

A clumsy question for you....Could a right-hand-driven car convert to a left-hand-driven car???? :nerv: Is It a huge fuss? But then the weight of the steering system will be on the left side,so probably the factory weight distribution goes bad again....(?)

That's a fwto of my ej9 in a recent trackday.Mine is the blue one!!!

greetings from cyprus tony!!! :drive:

ek9 being RHD is the ONLY prob stopping me from having one... as driving on the other side of the road is uncomfatable & dangerous as overtaking creates a new difficulty...

Me too, pal.I know what you talk about.I can't afford a trackday car,so my car has to do both everyday and track use.And driving here a RHD car is a problem. What do you think "JDMjunkies.ch" ?

haha, you make jokes? driving on the wrong side is the cooles thing ever, all guys are looking at you and surrounding you at the gas station.
alltough on highways its no problem to make over-takes because you dont have any cars who come from the other side.. and your much faster anyway, you can have anough space to the car in front of you so you can watch what's happening left from the car in front of you.. normal streets there's absolutley no problems. parking is even better, because you have a much better view to the left side of your car and on the right side just look out of your window.

the only thing who is a bit problematic is over-taking cars on streets with cars coming from the other sides. but usually i dont do overtakes in those situations anyway so it's not a problem.

also if you drave an rhd car on lhd-streets you shouldn't use it as daily driver. i don't do so. it wouldnt be fun if you drive it like this daily but its really fun if you take out your dream car on weekends and everybody's watching at you..

i cannot descripe it to you, but its really worth the thing and i don't think it's dangerous if you dont make any crazy maneuvers.

i use my ek9 as car for meetings, shows and as soon as registrated as weekend car and i got an 90hP Ej9 (same body as the ek9) as my daily driver..

So the solution is to keep my ej9 and collect money to import an rhd EK9....???
Does anybody knows if the conversion rhd to lhd is possible?Using of course the front panel/console of a lhd civic and move all drivers applications to left. Are there any fotos of empty engine bays to make a comparison between lhd and rhd??????

Yes it can be done!!!I had a little conversation with my mechanicer and told me that he had already done it 3 times!!! :D I hope you help me find a nice Ek9 in the future so I can have the first lhd EK9 in Greece!!!:clap::clap:

Do you know if EK4 an EK9 have the same rack???How much does it cost aproximately?

Welcome!

I think it would be cheaper to just import an EK4 from US to start
