Hi ek9erz I have finished building my k20 ek9 and I love it, the power and speed and the drive, the ability to redline, its pushing 250.1 bhp and 180 torque, it ran a 13.2 at santapod, I could have got a better time but it was my 1st time and I hit the limiter on 2nd and 3rd, however now I am thinking of doing a k24 swap, I know there's a few members on here that have done the conversion so needed some help along the way, so my aim is to have a better quater mile time and a reliable road car and also safe,
I currently have
Ep3 engine and box with lsd
Rrc
Skunk2 70mm tb
Skunk2 mani
Stage 4 clutch
Drag catels dic
Rdx injectors
3inch exhaust
Kpro
Karcepts cai

I want to change the pistons so I can rev higer and also looking to get some more aggressive drag cartel cams to some, to do this what do I need to change and what can I sell of?
I will be using the bottom of a k24a3

How about supercharging your current engine? Will net you more power than a k24! A rotrex charged k series feels very much like a fast NA engine.

Hybrid racing have a guide on doing the swap. You'll be wanting to change your k24 oil pump to type r k20 unit. Fd2 pump straight swap no cutting required. Think there's a member on here (dc5Con) with k24 swap running 300bhp.

K24/k20 would be my choice.

That was my other option to, but iv been told by a mate who ownes both a charged k20 and a k24 that he prefers the k24

That is his preference, it may not be yours! If you could get a spin in both car's I guess it would help you decide...

13.2 is really quick! Either option would make this car insane! Good luck with whatever you choose!

How do you find the drag cartel DIC's? Was there much of a power difference from before having them?

I don't know about before the cartel dic cams because before I ran a b20 vtec, and when I did my kswap I changed the cams same time, however I highly recommend them there ace and a lot of fun, and make good power

I was looking into getting the DC dic cams when I done my Kswap but thought I'd leave it for the time being. I'm also thinking along the same lines as you now and thinking of going k20/k24 frank but sticking to Oem parts.

I like to be able to rev high and will want the most out of it hence the reason I'd get the bottom built and head, however if I don't need to change any parts then I won't but not sure what needs changing and what dont

Now that is somthing I'd like to be running, serious na power

I've just completed my k24 build.. standard mind you but im already looking to turbo next year lol. I would say just turbo the beast and enjoy it!

IF you want revs then build the K20! k24 blocks seem hard to come by and expensive here, from my experience. The longer block height means more chance of a sump scrape too.

Im building a K20 to go in my EK9 at the moment, forge the bottom end and get a 4 piston 156 head with a good meaty set of Drag cartel cams. Can't imagine that'l be far off a K24 plus you get alot of revs.

This is all just my opinion and from stuff ive been reading about online. So don't hold me to it :)

K24 blocks are not that hard to come by here, but yea I'm considering all options yet
